Canned december 17th 2017

Pours hazy orange, big pillowy long lasting head of fine bubbles. Medium carbonation, great retention. Good lacing too.

Aromas of soft stone fruits, peaches, mango and mainly passion fruit. Some minerality too.

Taste is passion fruit forward and much bitter than I expected, but in a good way. A bit of minerality also present.

Mouthfeel is nice, could be softer, bitter fruity aftertaste. Alcohol not noticed.

Overall a really nice beer, to enjoy a 6 pack without hesitation.

22oz bottle - this is supposed to be a New England-style IPA, but they reference their own 'island' when talking about the haze. Ok.

This beer pours a cloudy, pale golden yellow colour, with four fingers of puffy, rocky, and somewhat chunky eggshell white head, which leaves some random scattered and sudsy lace around the glass as it lazily dissipates.

It smells of mixed domestic citrus rind, further blended tropical fruity notes, some wet minerality, gritty and grainy cereal malt, and more leafy, weedy, and piney green hop bitters. The taste is bready and crackery caramel malt, some orange, red grapefruit, and aged lemon citrus rind, a still mixed and matched exotic fruitiness, faint hints of wet stones after a cleansing rain, and some fading earthy, musty, and piney 'verdant' hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its palate-coating frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and actually quite smooth, with an airy creaminess gaining sentience as things warm up a tad around here. It finishes off-dry, the malt and tropical fruit esters lingering with the most brio.

Overall - this comes across as a capable enough aping of the proclaimed sub-style, with lots of big frooty flavours, yet without a whole lot of attendant bitterness. Add to that a well-integrated, extra 5-proof of the ol' boozy-booze, and hey, I wouldn't kick this one out of bed for eating crackers, or whatever the hell that saying is.

Hazy orange with some particulates floating. White frothy foam, like 2 fingers tall diminishing to a small crown and leaving a spare lacing. Excellent, high aroma of tropical fruits, pineapple, mangoes or passion-fruit etc. Medium-high hoppy flavor. Medium sweet and bitter flavor. Juicy, medium body. Soft carbonation. Light dry finish with some sweetness continuing.

It is a very delicious beer. Kind of tropical juice with some sparkles and alcohol. But if we look at it as an IPA... lack of bitterness is very obvious.

LOOKS: A very hazy burnt orange with a big, and growing white foam that lasts and lasts.
AROMA: Getting lots of citrus and tropical notes. % Alive, anyone?
TASTE: Lots of juicy citrus and tropical fruit. Tastes good, with pretty low bitterness.
FEEL: Soft up front, dry in the finish. A little less than average carbonation with a medium body.
OVERALL: Juicy!

Canned on January 5, 2018. This is a juice bomb, a tropical easy sipper that is light on bitterness. It has a citrusy aroma on the nose, plenty of lacing, and great mouth feel. This is a great beer and well worth picking up.

Appearance: hazy orange in color with a 1/2" head that slowly falls to a thick surface covering.

Smell: some mild tropical fruit tones are detectable.

Taste: caramel, pineapple, mango, papaya, and an earthy bitterness finishes it out.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp from start to finish.

Overall : a decent IPA with a nice flavor profile. Easy to consume.
