Poured from 12-ounce can into a pilsener flute. Pale amber color, with a two-finger white head that left some sticky lacing as it settled. The canning date was misprinted, so the age of the sample could not be easily determined. There was quite a bit of depth to the malt character, with some biscuit and light caramel on the nose and palate. Lots of pine and citrus, with lemon, orange, grapefruit, and citrus zest. This finishes on the dry side, with tons of lingering zesty bitterness and a smidgen of alcohol heat. Overall, a very good and drinkable DIPA.

The pour was a cloudy, semi-opaque golden yellow with a 2-finger head that subsided a think residue of lacing. Smell contains a good amount of citrus; apricot, peach, lemon, orange and grapefruit with a hint of pine. Taste, not as heavy as expected with a nice array of citrus fruit, but very light when it comes to a DIPA. Can taste the Citra and Centennial hops but were very mild.

They must have kept brewing this for the whole birthday season, since besides 22 oz bottles this was on tap near the end of October.

Color is an attractive shade of golden amber with plenty of foam. It's aromatic with lemon, orange, and a flirtation with pine. There is a spiciness that is very endearing. Some malty sweetness. An aftertaste of lime peel.

Overall the flavors are mellow, the alcohol is not excessive, and the modest bitter tang adds to the balance. This is all very bright but restrained, an ideal sort of big IPA in my book. From the 32 oz growler filled at the brewery off Morena Blvd.

Picked this up along with a bunch of others at Bine & Vine. Generally (probably 90 percent of the time) I don’t think Coronado puts out that many good beers, but it was an anniversary beer. Had to give it a try. Doing some searching saw that the hops were Azacca, Citra and Centennial. Oldies but goodies. Hoping for something in the 4.00-to-4.10 range.

Poured a pale, mostly hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of fast moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent spiderweb lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled peach, apricot, pear, nectarine, Citra, mixed berry, stone fruit and green grape. Did not notice Centennial and not really an expert on Azacca. Was smelling rather smooth for a DIPA though. (Smell - 3.75)

Taste was OK. Got mixed berry, peach, nectarine, pear, stone fruit, purple grape, boozy Azacca (was not getting Citra or Centennial, so narrowed it down) and bitter earthy pine. (Taste - 3.25)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, boozy finish. (Feel - 3.50)

A decent DIPA, but not something I’d ever have again on purpose. (Overall - 3.50)

Picked up a 32 oz crowler from the Island brewpub earlier today for $10.40.

Beer poured golden-orange with a decent white head that had some good hang time.

Nose has hints of citrus and is slightly tropical.

Taste is grapefruit with a hint of papaya over a decent sized malt base. Finish is a touch piney and a bit of grapefruit pith.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and pretty smooth.

Overall another solid double IPA offering from Coronado that is worth a shot.

12 ounce can poured into a tulip

A: Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a bright white head, lots of lacing, no retention, nice stream of bubbles going up the glass's side.

A: Deep, rich citrus peel, slight guava, pine, sweet light bready malts, not as aromatic as I was expecting.

T: Follows the nose but less depth, citrus, grapefruit-like peel, guava, slight pine and resin, moderate amount of bitterness, finish is dry with lingering notes of citrus peel and pine, touch of bready malts as well, alcohol is not present on the taste.

M: Medium bodied, very drinkable, dry finish.

O: A straightforward IIPA, nothing really stands out, for an IIPA I was expecting more flavor and aroma, still good.

This is a big AIPA that leaves you knowing you got the real deal.

It pours pretty yellow with just a tad of fine head. The aroma is faint and almost more sweet than hoppy (but not quite). The taste is big, malty, hoppy and thick. Nicely balanced considering the mass of hops and malts.

This is highly recommended, but I think it may have been a one shot deal.

Poured from 12oz can into Snifter glass. Canned on June 19th 2017. #staycoastal

L: Clear gold, half finger white head dissipates into an island of bubbles and a thick ring.

S: Some pine, and herbal hops take the forefront with citrus in the aftermath. Quite refreshing.

T: Not as hoppy or as bitter as most IIPAs however this is still hop heavy with notes of pine and surprising amounts of herbal character with citrus backing it all up.

F: Medium body, crisp, hop residuals linger on the tongue. Dry finish.

O: Not as loud as most IIPAs are however this is still well within the style. To me this is a very refreshing beer and I would happily drink this again.

Canned on 6/12/17. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with solid transparency and has bubbles racing upwards; small fluffy eggshell white head that falls leaving nice retention and lacing. The aromas have some tropical notes along with some bready malts. Some floral notes as well. The flavors follow the nose. A nice burst of fruit along with some crackers. Some pineapple and grapefruit along with some fresh pine. Moderate bitterness. Malts do their thing. Finishes dry. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's on the lighter side of full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's very fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a solid DIPA. It's not really flashy or anything too crazy, but it's enjoyable.
