Dark amber colour with a thin tan head. Smells are of smooth hops and a number of tropical fruit as well as citrus and spice. Taste has a number of things going on, all of them good. Nice mouthfeel. This is a great example of a above average west coast IPA. Prost!

One of my best IPA ever.

This West Coast Pale Ale blends Centennial, Chinook and Columbus hops for a potent burst of piney bitterness ans lush notes of apricot, grapefruit and mango.

L: slightly hazy gold blanketed by a 2" ivory to cream colored foam cap with good retention

S: juicy, citrusy smell hinting at tangerines, tropical fruit, spice, light floral and light pine supported by some light biscuit

T: Citrus and fruit flavors start the palate featuring tangerine, light melon and a mild sweetness, leading to an assertive bitter, drying finish

F: medium body and very creamy with soft, medium carbonation

O: a pleasantly drinkable IPA with a drying assertive finis

355ml can poured into tulip.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with one finger of off-white head that leaves sandbag fortification lace as it recedes.

Smells of mandarin orange, guava and mango slices, pineapple, caramel malt, rising dough and mildly dank piney hops.

Tastes of orange rind, bread crust, pink grapefruit flesh, pineapple chunks, guava, caramel and pine resin. Alcohol is detected.

Feels soft and creamy. Hefty middleweight with frothy carbonation. Finishes dry with a bit of booziness.

Verdict: Highly recommended. A fine example of a California IPA.

This beer pours a deep gold with a medium head. The aroma features citrus peel, caramel, pine, orange flesh, and pink grapefruit. The flavor simple and tasty, with pink grapefruit, guava, and very mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is quite light with soft carbonation. Overall this is a very tasty and easy drinking beer - nothing really remarkable, but so smooth and gulpable.

12 oz can with a canned date of 06/01/2017. Appears slightly hazy golden color with a dense head that tops off the beer. Heavy lacing is left down the glass. Aroma of pine and tropical fruit. I also pick up some sweet malt. Flavor is definitely a bit sweeter than what is typical for West Coast style IPAs. Flavors of pine, mango, with some earthy/herbal notes. Malt adds some sweet caramel and bready notes. Nice body and robustly carbonated. Solid IPA but it is not going to replace any of my regular IPAs in rotation.

The appearance was a nice looking hazy to slight transparent yellow color. There was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about less than a minute. A film of sticky lacing clings nicely to the glass. The smell calls upon a nice sweet to bitter spice but yet allows a decent sweet malt to balance. Light citrus intertwines. The taste was sweet but bitter and balanced between the two. Light sweet citrus aftertaste with a sticky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a good sessionable quality about it. Overall, I dig it, though no date, I could definitely have again, I’m assuming this is somewhat fresh.

To my deepest regret I wasted 50 ml of this liquid gold when opening the cap and letting the head overflow... as excellent as a beer this is, it is such a pity. But looking at the bright side of things: the bottle is filled 355 ml so I am just where I should be with a standard bottle of craft IPA!
Chinook and Centennial perhaps (and checking the bottle, yes indeed) that are heavy in the nose, seriously and freshly dry hopped, perhaps a new batch. Excellent, refreshing, lively. Drinks very easily, feels like I could back it down like water but with the full pleasure of an amazing craft IPA. Wow.
Not quite sure where Coronado is located in California but somehow reminds me of Anderson Valley, being somewhere deep in the woods, surrounded by vast areas of nature - interesting enough, this is what comes through the beer.
The feeling of freshness lasts throughout, perhaps that's why you feel like drinking and drinking it, simply because it's so uplifting. As it thaws out more and more, the hops give it a deeper taste, something more complex than citrusy freshness. The hops are combined in a way that it smells and tastes somehow caramelly hoppy, earthy and piney.
Not sure if there is a reason to discuss it any longer - not sure if this playful taste could be described in any more detail. Simply pop one open - and don't let it overflow! A true Californian Classic.
