First pour is a nice toasted golden body with a huge billowing beige head. As I get closer to the bottom of the bottle it transforms into a murky golden orange and quite a bit of sediment lies in the bottom. Hopefully not an indicator of old age.
Not a huge nose on this beer. A slight citrusy grapefruit note and some herbal hop bitterness but I really have to search for it.
Very heavy mouthfeel compared to what I was expecting. Maybe a bit more carbonation would have helped.
My first reaction is that this is a bit too sweet for my liking. Not cloyingly sweet but not something that I would yearn for in a DIPA. There is a slight citrus hop but the bitterness comes primarily from the herbal hop which hits you later and hangs in there for quite some time after you swallow. The hops are certainly restrained by the amount of malt sweetness I am tasting. It could be that this is an old bottle and the hops have faded because I can not find a bottling code anywhere. The sweetness sort of reminds me of honey graham crackers and is pleasant although not what I am looking for when grabbing for a DIPA.
Certainly a solid brew but I personally want more hops and less malty sweetness. Next time I see it on tap I will give it another try.

Orangish amber pour with nice fluffy head, soft hoppy aroma, taste is more tart and bitter, pine notes on the finish. Nice sharp DIPA (west coast style)

Bottled 2/4/15; drank 3/9/15 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque light orange appearance; white flotsam.
Big eggshell head; frothy lace.
Grapefruit, caramel & pine needle notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Pine needle & caramel flavors up front; a grapefruit bite on the finish. As this warmed, a nice peanut butter (!) note emerged.
Not normally my flavor profile, but this was interesting & tasty. I'd have another.

Pours a pale, murky golden orange, with probable 'junk in the trunk' at a glance, rather few carb bubbles, drifting slow.
Thin head of fine bubbles. Lacing present.
Sour malt scent. Lemon Aura.
Taste follows the nose, crisp and sour malt, with a citrus hint; loaf of lime, with half a hint of grapefruit-pine. Bold booze.
If finesse is you aim, move on. For an 8.5% this is super easy drinking.
