Notes: Brewed with a blend of Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe hops. Bursting with tropical dankness, this beer is everything you want from a San Diego-style IPA. It’s bright, bursting with hop fruitiness, and refreshingly dry. Crack one open and get ready to feel those weekend vibes.

Part of a Red Cow flight after a Mayo visit

Clear, almost piss-yellow, little bit of sticky head. Lighter scent, like pine and honey. The taste is milder, mostly dry with some wet hops that stick around

Impressed by this one, great flavor

16oz canned 9-20-22, opened 12-10-22.
2+ finger rocky white head with great retention. Sheets of lace. Yellow-golden body with a bit of chill haze. Tropical and citrus nose, light pine with a bready malt backing. Orange zest bitterness, lemon, passion fruit, and papaya. Light body with medium carbonation and a decent punch of bitterness. Very Good.

Coronado - another new brewery to this market. I'm pretty sure this is my first Coronado brew and I've heard good things about their hoppy brews. This one is a solid West Coast IPA, hoppy and somewhat dank and piney while also leaning into some tropical fruit and staying smooth and not overly bitter. Very clean and drinkable, a nice combination of Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra, old school and new combined.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a foamy white head that provides ample lacing. The nose is dank citrus, primarily ripe orange, grapefruit, mango, and berries.

The taste mirrors the nose, with the orange, mango, and berry flavors most delicious. The medium, dry mouthfeel is perfect for the WCIPA style. Coronado rocks in a world class way, IMHO.

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, light golden color with a mild white head. SRM of 6. (3.75)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of orange, tropical berry, melon, possibly some mango. Resinous. (4.00)

Flavor: Strong flavors of orange, dank and tropical berry and melon. Definitely has a resinous tropical berry note. Some blueberry from the Mosaic. Mildly bitter pine in the middle amongst the resin. Possibly some mango evolves on the sweet finish. (4.25)

Feel: Medium to heavier bodied. Moderate carbonation. A mild bitterness before it leans for a sweeter finish. (4.00)

Compared to Surly's Axe Man IPA 6/8/22: Pours a lighter color, similar head. Similar aromas. More tropical and mango fruit. Less citrus and pine. Similar dank and tropical berry/melon flavors, but slightly more juicy. Overall, extremely similar.

Overall: A better than expected IPA, or maybe I underestimated this one. I had read good reviews and was surprised to find it as fresh as I did as a mass retailer in the midwest. Lots of orange, and tropical berry and melon resinous flavors. Some blueberry. What I think of when I think of Mosaic hops. Some great stuff here from Coronado, and would definitely pick this up when I'm on the island. (Rating: 4.14+)

I've been really looking forward to trying this San Diego-style IPA, seems to have great hop selection of Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe hops.

L: Airy/ fluffy white head that leaves lacing, fairly clear and golden in appearance with good carbonation.
S: Sweet tropical and citrus aromas - pine, guava, mango, orange and grapefruit
T: Very tasty! It smells exactly what it tastes like and has active carbonation. Sweet tropical fruit notes with blast through with mild earthy bitterness and it ends off dry.
F: Medium fluffy body

Overall, it's a delicious and refreshing IPA.
P.S. It doesn't taste like a 6.8% ABV beer!

Coronado Brewing Co. "Weekend Vibes"
16 fl. oz. can, "CANNED:11/12/2021 #4451"
$3 @ Kunda Beverage, King of Prussia, PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: This has some of my favorite hops in it - Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe. That's a proven blend so let's see how they've done. It's poured a hazy golden body beneath a finger's width of white foam. The aroma is citrusy, berry-like, and lightly piney and earthy over a sweetish and grainy malt base. On to the taste... it's more bitter than I thought it would be but that's OK. The hops remains with some additional apricot and passionfruit but it's not as bright as I thought it would be given the aroma. There's some mango in there as well, and the pine is stronger than the aroma suggests. The grain is a little richer than some and I'm guessing that this is pale ale rather than 2-row. It's more of a standard IPA than an NEIPA, but not as bold as a west coast IPA. The label reads "San Diego-style IPA" which makes me think of Stone Brewing, and I guess that fits. This isn't as bitter as most of the Stone brews but it does have a very firm bitterness and dry finish. Pine, resin, and earthiness linger for quite some time. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. The head has held up well and although it's now just a thin covering it's at least a completely solid covering. The lacing is nice but it could be better. All in all this is a solid, straighforward IPA that I'd welcome at any time of year.

Perfectly clear; fairly lively. Decent head production and OK retention.

Very expressive aromatics, with notes of both bright green and dank herbs, pepper, cracker, honeysuckle, grapefruit, orange, lychee, and mango.

A bit juicier on the palate than the nose implies, along with a solid bitterness. Tropical and citrus fruit notes play off each other, along with a mild dank pungency that emerges mid-sip, growing to moderate strength by the back third. Extremely lively about the gums; drinks very appropriately for the ABV, with a light-moderate body and semi-dry finish.

From a pint can at home. Head was six feet high. Starts off real smooth. Now I know what a dry beer tastes like. The aftertaste is a terrific grapefruit peel and it lasts a good while.

Hey, this is good stuff. Distinctive San Diego hop profile, but not too harsh – with a smooth, malty finish. Not usually a big fan of pint cans as a size option, but just downed two of these (poured into a glass)… and feeling no pain! It’s a beautiful SoCal Sunday, appropriately enough :)

Drinking this at The Dish Dash in Silicon Valley San Jose California.
Poured from a tap into a pint glass.
Looks slightly hazy, golden yellow with a nice white foamy head that dropped to a thick cap and some nice laclng
Smells lightly bready, spicy, citrusy.
Taste follows the nose nicely, all the elements are stronger in the tasting than in the nose.
Mouth feel is medium for the style, a bit sticky with a nice dry finish.
Overall a very nice AIPA that I would definitely order again.

Pours a beautiful clear golden yellow with a large puffy white cap that has good retention and great lacing. Aroma is citrus. Flavor follows the nose, nice and citrusy with a bit of hop bite in the finish. Feel is light bodied and well carbonated. Overall a very tasty beer from a brewery I'm starting to put some real trust in.

I got a 6pck of this beer from my local beer store just around the corner. It poured a hazy golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had very nice citrus peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with citrus peel spice presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer!
