Notes: In the spirit of collaboration and for the love of craft beer, three local breweries and San Diego Magazine partnered on a new collection for its “Best of San Diego” issue. This classic west coast IPA was brewed and canned by Coronado Brewing Company. Brewed with a dank blend of Simcoe, Cascade, Chinook and Centennial hops, this IPA has loads of resinous pine and ripe stone fruit flavors with a lingering, dry finish. Also try the Hoppy Pilsner by Eppig Brewery and Sour Ale by Fall Brewing Company. Drink responsibly.

Had the Eppig Hoppy Pilsner of this one the previous week, but was psyched to see this at Trader Joe’s. Back of the can read, “In the spirit of collaboration and for the love of craft beer, three local breweries and San Diego Magazine partnered on a new collection for its “Best of San Diego” issue. This classic west coast IPA was brewed and canned by Coronado Brewing Company. Poured a medium yellow-to-golden clear color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky white head. Plenty of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass at different speeds. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Three of the four mentioned hops jumped out with the first sniff in Simcoe, Chinook and Cascade. Also woody pine, black pepper, lime, grapefruit, herbal and earthy malt. Overall was a little better out of the can. (Smell - 3.75)

Taste was similar to the nose. For sure an old school West Coast IPA. Got spicy Simcoe, Chinook, Cascade, woody pine, black pepper, lime, bitter grapefruit peel, herbal and earthy malt. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Dry, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

A pretty solid West Coast IPA overall. Would have it again for sure. (Overall - 4.00)
