On tap at the CBC on 3/19/09. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a hazy orange gold with a 1/2 finger of foamy brite-white colored head. Nice thin layer of creamy retention that throws a solid cascade of spotty lacing up on the sides of the glass. The aroma is earthy smelling and a touch spicy, with a nice mellow citrus component to it. Light accents of toasted malts and caramel offer some balance and support to the nose and I'm also picking up just a touch of alcohol beef as well.

The taste stars with some moderately assertive English hop character, which comes off a bit more spicy than bitter at times, that then blends into a tangy tasting backing of citrus flavors and bisquits that pull up the rear. A touch of sweetness and spice linger in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a heftier feel to it from the higher ABV. The carbonation however is relatively creamy on the palate, so it cancels most of the beefier aspects of the body, keeping the drinkibility of this good for me.

Very nice. A full flavored traditional English IPA with a bit of meat on its bones. This was a pleasantly hoppy (and appropriate) choice to accompany the plate of shrimp and scallop pasta that I had for dinner.

The Aroma on this one is muted - but most EIPAs are. Nice leathery malt textures and flavors. Flavor is bitter, but not intsnes. Slightly sweet, but not cloying. The hops are muted, but that works for this English IPA. Pours a cloudy amber with white head. Nice take on the style.

Hazy orange, not much head from the big bottle. What's there is soapy and tan. Aroma is fairly muted with notes of sweet caramel malt. The flavor is quite citric hoppy for the English style, with more resin and alpha acids than normal. Mouthfeel is right down the middle, and I like the more aggressive citrics with the malt out of the way. Still, a bit sweet for my personal taste.
