Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Pilsner glass. Reviewed live.

A- Finger width white head. Tiny, frothy bubbles. Partially cloudy orange-gold color. Some thin lacing.

S- Overcooked malts, some punchy citrus smells. Some strange dogfood like notes. They really did a number on this one. Awful smell.

T- Very yeasty, overpowers everything else. Some light citrus and malt in the first sip, but it tastes like moldy bread.

M- Smooth and wet.

O- I was not expecting a beer this bad. This is unfortunate.

A - Pours a golden almost amber colour with a one fingered fizzy head that disappears rather quickly.

S - Burnt orange peel, a little metallic with a faint hint of banana and clove. But not much there really.

T - Orange, some apricots and spice but pretty ordinary nonetheless which leaves a horrible bitter and dry taste in your mouth on the finish.

M - light bodied and very little carbonation

O - A very disappointing effort for a wheat beer and pretty much tasteless. Never again.

As an "Wit" I was expect a light color and a citrus crispness. What I got was a hoppy amber beer. The hop feel sat on my tongue like an IPA. There was zero citrus crispness. As such, it was not to style in the least bit. Instead I would judge this beer as an amber ale. In which case I would rate it slightly higher but it would still be "unremarkable"

This beer pours a clear yellow with a thin head and no lace. It's aroma is of fresh baked bread and mild citrus. The flavor leads with bread with honey and mild malt sweetness with very faint orange in the finish. The mouthfeel is light. Coronado Orange Wit is a refreshing, decent beer, recommended.

Coronado makes it to MA which means more 12oz bottles for me to review.

A- Poured into a tumbler with a hazy, yeast clouded golden light orange body. A small white cap forms that has a fizzy, somewhat creamy texture. Head retention is decent as the foam dies down to a small ring fairly quickly. Several patches of lace and a few small rings.

S- Not a whole lot of strength here, I find myself searching for the aroma in a style that usually smacks you in the face. Moderate amounts of citrus and orange peel come to mind with a bit of yeast spiciness beyond that.

T- Spiciness comes to life here as it didn't really hit me that much in the aroma. White peppercorn, coriander and even a bit of cardamom hit the palate with the aforementioned orange citrus zest feel. Rustic wheat bread, medium sweetness, herbal qualities, honey and earthiness all come to mind beyond the spice and citrus.

MF- Light bodied with a crisp, high-end carbonation; refreshing feel. Texture is fizzy with a slight silky creaminess. It all finishes off with a zesty bitterness lingering on the palate.

Something about the whole experience feels thin to me. The flavor doesn't round it to be all that satisfying to me and is a bit underwhelming. The added spices also throw the balance a little too far in that direction. Has that flavored soda feel for some reason.

Nearly no initial head and from there, it loses nearly all of the bubbles rapidly. Exactly three small spots for lace. Straw color with plenty of haze.

Soured pale malt mash aroma. A bit grainy as well. After a bit of waiting, I smell sweetness that reminds me of orange ribbon candy.

First impression is that this another macro beer--thin body and lightly flavored. I note some wheat and hop in the swallow. Very short aftertaste. Easy to drink but void of any interest.

Might have gotten a bad bottle, but the smell was rather vegetal with orange just barely sneaking through. Taste was also rather dull and not as refreshing as I had hoped on a 90 F day. Subdued mouthfeel, small bubbles, perhaps flat-ish. Again, maybe I got a bad bottle. I would give it another shot just to be sure.

The beer poured out as a lightly hazed yellowish gold color with a thin white head on top that didn't do too much besides disappear. The smell of the beer is sweet with orange aromas, sadly the orange aromas are more like orange soda. It's a little too sweet I think on the nose. The taste kind of jumps in the same direction which hinders my thoughts. I felt that the mouthfeel was also a little too thin as well. It seemed flat to me, very little if any carbonation here. Overall I wasn't impressed too much and I probably wouldn't have this one again.

A: hazy; a deeper yellow that I would expect from a wit - likely due to the honey; 1 finger head that receded very quickly; almost no lacing;

S: like a wit, but the sweetness of the honey comes through as well;

T: the honey sweetness is predominant; any wit characteristics are buried in the background; no bitterness at all;

M: light bodied; light carbonation;

O:I like that brewers are experimenting with styles and I like trying those experiments, but the honey really doesn't work for me;

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy and cloudy burnt yellow with an eggshell white head that fades leaving solid retention and okay lacing. The aromas are subtle. Malts are present. Lots of bread with hints of corn. Subtle citrus notes. It doesn't really smell like a witbier. The flavors are clean and refreshing. Lots of fresh grass. Hints of orange and lemon. Not much of a yeast presence. Solid malt backbone. Alcohol goes completely unnoticed. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's light with active carbonation. It's very fluffy and smooth. Extremely quaffable.

This might not be what I personally look for in the style, but it's very refreshing. It just doesn't have much going on at all.

Appearance: Cloudy, hazy, murky yellow with a slight glimmer of orange. Very thin lacing.

Smell: Potent! Can smell it three feet away. Slight earthy wheat, with a bit of spice and orange thrown in.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Higher in carbonation than I'm used to for this style. Mild at first, but then you get a bit of the spice and heats up the palette. Dry with an off-putting wheat flavor. Taste as if I was chewing on orange peels....not a huge fan.

Overall: Just wasn't impressed in any one aspect of this beer except for the smell, but I can't live off of the smell alone. It's just too plain and uninspiring for me to try again. Tick this one off of the beer list....but that's about all it was good for.

A- bland straw, cloudy body, small white had

S- Some orange and spices, not a whole lot

T- Orange, citrusy, wit beer as it should be, bready, crisp finish

M- Light body, decent carbonation, crisp

D- Nothing above average here at all. But there's nothing offensive at all. It is quite easy to drink but I'm not going to go out of the way to seek this.

Pours a hazy gold color with a thin eggshell head that retains OK. The aroma has some spices upfront (corriander, clove, orange peel) along with a little biscuit, bandaid, wax and some fruitiness. The flavor is similar to the aroma with spices upfront, along with a little hay, some orange and lemon, wax, bandaid and funk and some alcohol. The mouthfeel is light and drinkability is OK. This is a decent wit but it's astringent and has a weird bandaid flavor/aroma that is offputting.

Pours cloudy yellow with a faint head.

Smells orange-y but in an artificial sense. Like orange soda almost.

Taste follows the smell. A hint of vanilla honey but the taste is dominated by a fake orange taste.

Mouthfeel- watery

A let down. The description sounded great but the beer just wasn't that great.

Pours amber with a small white head.
Nose shows bready malt, soft orange and faint honey. Very soft.
Similar flavours of sweet light malt, honey with accompanying grainy notes and orange peel. No wheat showing.
Seems watery.
Doesn't exactly hit the mark for a witbier...

Pours a clean yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, orange juice, with a wheat note note and spices. In the taste, dry wheat notes and a small spice, like pepper, with a orange juice like citrus flavor. A small bite and medium bodied mouthfeel, with dry wheat hints. OJ stands out, nice wheat notes and dry spice.

12oz bottle into weizen glass.

Hard pour yields minimal soapy, white head over a lightly clouded yellow body with some carbonation present.

Mostly spices in the aroma - pepper, with cracked wheat and faint hint of bitter hops.

Decent flavor mix which seemed to lean toward an orange-pepper-coriander mix which ends up strangely tasting like blueberry. Not a bad thing. Touch of honey sweetness is baked into the background.

Good Mouthfeel - lively carbonation cleanses everything at the end, leaving you ready for more.

While the aromas and flavors were about averagefor the style, this one comes through with good marks on drinkability, nonetheless.

Pours a clear straw color with an unremarkable white head that is neither full enough nor retained for any great length of time. A few minutes gives just a thin film and some scattered lace.
Smell is malt, citrus, vanilla and hops. Well balanced.
Taste is a bit hoppier with a a much milder malt note than in the nose. Vanilla and citrus are present but the balance is off somewhat. Spices, mainly pepper are here as well.
Medium-bodied with a tart effervescence up front. Aftertaste has a bit more malt presence with a faint warming on the palate. Overall, a decent brew but nothing special.

I don't see any bottle date.

Appearance: Hazy orange gold with a short fluffy white head. Good retention but not much lacing. Even with good retention the head doesn't stand very tall even on a vigorous pour.

Aroma: There is the sweet scent of coriander. I'm not getting any orange aroma but the scent is very nice.

Taste: It's very light on flavor. I'm getting some coriander flavor but the wheat doesn't show through at all. No orange flavor. The aftertaste gives a touch of a citrus tang and some herbal hop character.

Mouthfeel: Very thin and light bodied. It's easy to drink but it doesn't have a palate presence.

Overall: It's not a wit that I would recommend. It floats in the realm of average to sub-average and it isn't a beer I would drink again. The beer says it is a "wheat beer brewed with honey and spices." The wheat flavor doesn't come through in any aspect of the beer and the same goes for the honey. The beer also mentions being brewed with orange zest and while there is a bit of that in the aftertaste it isn't present while drinking the beer. The coriander is there which really saves the beer and keeps it on the average level.

Poured out of a tap into a pint glass. Color was golden orange and there was just a light film of head. Smelled a hint of orange and sweet but not that much after. I actually sucked some of the beer into my nostils looking for a smell. Tasted like oranges, specifically orange peels. Mild carbonation. Good after taste, though. Great for a summer beer.

Pours a hazy goldenrod color with a frothy white head that leaves chunks of lacing.

Smells of faint wheat with some really light spice notes.

Tastes of light wheat notes with some background notes. Wheat hits first with some twang that is rounded out by some sweetness giving an orangelike feel. Some very faint spice notes come in the end.

Mouthfeel is medium with a smooth amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a mediocre wit and could definitely be improved on.

Serving Type - Bottle

Appearance - Cloudy orange with a 1/2 inch fizzy head, and minor lacing.

Smell - Strong wheat, some orange, corridaner, apple, grape, alittle grainy, yeasty. A little lemon and banana in the finish.

Taste - Wheat up front with some orange peel, corriander, lemon and banana. Rather mellow and bland, Other then the wheat every other flavor are mild and lacking. Nothing stands out really, just the wheat. No alcohol is present.

Mouthfeel - Wheat coats tounge with its grainy flavor. Spices and fruits hit the palate very mildy and add minor flavor. Aftertaste is grainy, bland and dry.

Overall - Nothing special here, very bland and forgetable. Lacks flavor, balance and overal fruity flavors that most of this wits have. Nothing worth drinking again.

A 12 oz bottle picked up at Total Wine in Columbia, SC on the way home from Ocean Isle Beach, July 2012

A - A yellow golden clear brew, with no head and no lace left on the glass

S - Coriander, wheat, banana. Light malts, not much hop

T - Very light. Fairly sweet. Light malty wheat flavor, with mild citrus flavor and even light coriander taste.

M - Light bodied, not well carbonated.

O - An average brew. I like beers with more flavor however. I could see this being refreshing on a hot summer day on the beach however

Poured into an Evolution Brewing pint glass. Label says 07/5/11

A- Pours a hazy yellow with a 1/2 inch head that's life is very brief before leaving and becoming a paper-thin ring around the edge of the glass. Some lacing and thin surface foam.

S- Smells boozy. Hope it hasn't been sitting too long. Some citrus and wheat come in but are faint.

T- Woah. That's a lot of citrus. It's like biting into a grapefruit. Tons of orange notes too. There's an artificiality in the aftertaste, though. The spices used don't seem to compliment the beer but just add to the cough-syrup-like fakeness.

M- Light yet has a spice bite. Medium-low carbonation.

O- Interesting how they got it to taste so fruity, but it misses the mark. Ends up tasting similar to Leinie's Sunset Wheat.

TapRoom Pacific Beach

Served a hazed yellow gold, pure white head, nice lacing.

Aroma is wheaty with orange zest forefront and center, yeasty and minor spice.

The taste too is wheaty with an orange accent but not much else. Zero bitter. The orange gives a nice sweetness as if a grazing lick on a candied orange slice. Thin mouthfeel. The nondescript aftertaste vanishes abruptly.
add some complexity, particularly in the aftertaste and this could be special
