Another beer from June 2015.
Big black pour, brown head 1/2" deep. Roasted malt smells, scorch that shit! No adjunct needed, bits of chococoffee like notes waft from the roasted barley, which is not in any short supply here.
Taste is the reliable roasted malt providing an ample chewy background. Alcohol is firm, bitterness is high but non problematic given the heft of the beer that provides solace for a well hopped stout. Its not a hefty sludge mouth feel, they keep it nice and flowing without having to resort to Chicago pours to handle it like some higher rated stouts.
Stouts like these are fun to split, especially if you're finding your tasting session bogged down with massively hopped ipas, fruited beers and pastry stouts. Nice to get an OG up in there blasting away with the basics. The chocolate malt notes are definitely of the darker variety. I guess they say baker's chocolate isn't sweet, so that would be applicable here too. These were like $6 bombers. You could do worse.

2016 "Limited Edition" bottle.
Surprisingly enough, I found myself enjoying this non-barrel aged base beer over the barrel aged Stupid Stout. While the base beer is slightly thin, it has a very good chocolate taste with mild caramel presence. There's a bit of coffee there as well. As far as adjuncts go, it's excellent. Again, it's slightly thin, but it's a pretty beer with a light head and tastes quite good with minimal aftertaste.
I like it.

The pour is so dark and beautiful.
Smelt like molasses and malt, bitter sweet.
The taste you get a tinge of coffee, dark chocolate, and ended on the sweeter end with molasses and kind of a cherry taste.
This is a heavy beer. Not a strong stout, but I felt full after drinking this.

Flight glass on tap from CBC.
L: Motor oil black.
S: Rich coffee and chocolate.
T: Follows the nose closely but with a slight alcohol bite. Quite good.
F: Medium body, very slightly dry.
O: Not a bad Stout, but not anything special. Good beer though.

Pours a dark brown with a decent size beige foam head with decent staying power.
Aromas of molasses, bakers chocolate, dark fruits, and flat cola.
Tastes is on the lighter, fruity side. Some good bitter stout characteristics followed by a fruity swallow and light bitterness on the aftertaste.
Overall this is a decent stout. Good aromas abound but the taste is somewhat more sweet than I expect for an imperial stout.

Poured from a bomber into a Pilsner glass.
A: Inky brown/black with a tan head--I did an aggressive pour and got a 1.5" head; lacing is OK but not really long-lasting or magnificent
S: Aroma is about a 3.9, not what I would usually rate a 4.0, but I rounded up--moderately deep chocolate, and coffee and then some alcohol comes through, well-balanced, rich, very enjoyable
T: Bitter chocolate, coffee, malt, well-balance, delicious, very satisfying. My favorite stouts I rate at 4.25 to 4.5, so this one is not in the same league, but it is really delicious. Malty/bitter/alcohol finish.
F: Medium thick, almost chewy, full bodied, wonderful
O: An outstanding stout that costs half as much as my real favorites. I'm glad I tried it!

Tasted in an 11 oz snifter from draft at O'Toole's on February 1, 2017. Look is nearly black with a tan head and spotty lacing. Smell and taste is chocolate and coffee with subtle hop notes. Feel is full in body.
