Big rich light brown head settles into a nice lacing above a clear super dark brown to black colored beer.
Rich black coffee to coffee grounds aroma with any cream or sugar.
Big black coffee taste with some of the dark roasted malt characteristics coming through nicely.
A dryish after taste with the feel of a creamy bakers chocolate on this full bodied stout.
I'm not much of a coffee drinker but this stuff might help sway me.

Yet another July 2016 beer.
Pours black and dark brown, tan head 2/3" deep. Looks good. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Nothing unique about the coffee, its standard stuff you couldn't pick out blind.
Not as much of a bitter roasted malt feel as I thought I would get, has the standard tasting notes, coffee, roasted malt, chocolate malt, but its an easy drinker, not in your face aggressive. Mild bittering hop, this ain't no 100ibu imperial stout kind of stout, its more enjoyable every day of the week. Its got a big ass serving of coffee without having the drawbacks associated with too much coffee sometimes (too bitter, ashy, acidic etc). Maybe the post fermentation cold press does have its benefits?
It was bomber format when I got it, priced ok, but would really like to see something like this in 12oz bottles instead.

[Original rating 2015-11-28] Not liking this. Smells like a rusty coffee can, tastes like bad coffee from that can.

Unknown vintage; drank 3/14/15 @ the Yarchives.
Poured from the bottle into a glass.
Black/brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice tan head; strong lace.
Oats, roasted coffee & a hint of milk chocolate in the nose.
Creamy, medium thick mouthfeel.
Cream, oats, mild milk chocolate & faint creamed coffee flavors up front; faint hop bite on the finish. A decent session stout, but too mild to make much of an impression.

on draft. smell is straight bust ass coffee. Taste is bitter from the coffee but with malt from the stout. not overly heavy, so very easy to drink....assuming you like coffee

L: classic stout look...black...minimal lacing
S: roasted malt, coffee, molasses
T: roasted malt, coffee and molasses, and a light unsweetened dark chocolate finish
F: watery and light carbonation...the one weakness of this brew
Overall: Not awful after just drinking a Youngs Double chocolate stout (dreadful), but there's no big thing drawing me back to pick up more of this brew.
