Might of enjoyed it if the owner wasn't such a fucktard.

Got this growler from my girlfriends boss. Clear growler? Ehhh...Anyways, poured into a tulip glass.
A - Jet black with slightly off white head. Good amount of lacing.
S - The roastiness really takes over the nose. There is slight hoppiness but it is totally dominated.
T - The taste really follows the nose on this one. Lots of roastiness from the porter but the IPA just doesn't come through. Roast all through the mouthfeel.
M - Light to medium mouthfeel. The roastiness really finishes and lasts a long time.
O - It's a drinkable beer but nothing out of the ordinary. An okay black IPA.

Got this in the Tasting Partners BIF. Thanks.
A: Pours a fantastic brown/black with a big tan head. The lacing is substantial as is drinks.
S: Smells extremely roasty with some big hop characteristics mixed in. I’m picking up more burned malts than standard chocolate notes. There is a bit of a boozy scent deep down in there too.
T: Tastes exactly like it smells. Big hop character and tons of burnt malt. I’ve had other Black IPAs (or whatever you want to call them), and this is the worst example by far.
M: Full-bodied beer, with some heft. It starts off creamy and finishes smooth. Lingering flavors of bitter.
O: Not a fan of this beer at all. The flavors were definitely off. No need to drink the rest of the growler… one glass was more than enough.

Growler picked up in the Tasting Partner BIF.
Poured a nice rich deep brown, nice mocha head that hung around, real nice lacing.
Smell is a mix of roasted malt and herbal hops and comes across medicinal
taste starts of medicinal, followed by a smoked meat flavor ends roasty with a hint of cocoa, overall the taste got better as it warmed but still not something overly enjoyable, not my favorite style to begin with or maybe I've just had sub par example each time.
Mouthfeel is nice had good body and goes down smooth.
The taste just kills it for me. whatever hops they used just don't mess with roasted malts.

IPorterA has a body that falls somewhere between brown and black in color, but closer to black. The tan head. OK retention and minimal lacing.
The aroma has heavy notes of roast and a little bit of smoke. Some fruity hops hang around in the background.
The flavor leads of with a noticeable charred flavor, it almost tastes like there is smoked malt in this one. The middle has some caramel malt and a good bit of roasted malt. The finish is where the hops come out, with a bit of fruit and pine. There is a noticeable bitterness also.
The body is a touch light and the carbonation is also a little bit low.
I liked this beer, it's pretty good. For whatever reason, everyone liked every one of Beaver's beers better at the brewery than when we cracked our growlers, even though it was only a couple of hours later. Very strange, and I'm not sure I can account for it. Based on the fact that a large portion of my growler had empty space instead of beer, my only guess is that the actual filling of the growlers was the problem. With that said, if I had reviewed the sample from the brewery instead of from my growler, I would have scored this beer a touch higher.

On tapat the OTB.
A: Pours a dark brown color with some slight amber hues around the edges. Provides a thick tight beige foam head with some nice lacing.
S: Some charred malt flavors, smoke and a tad ashy. There is a mild undertone of citrus hops and some almost wet wood scents.
T: Starts off with some charred wood, almost smokey flavor. The middle is where you get most of the grapefruit and lemon hop character. The back end is a mix of dark roasted malts battling citrus hops for supremacy (not in an unpleasant way which I have experienced with other Black Ale's).
M: Leaves a hodge podge of flavor on the palate, some bitterness with some burnt wood flavor on the palate. A slightly thin body.
O: Not a huge Black Ale fan, I enjoyed this beer. None of the flavors are overly dominant which gives it a good balance.

Poured from the growler
Pours a cloudy pecan shell brown with off white suds of carbonation.
Smells mildly hoppy with a hint of dark malt.
Tastes mildly bitter from hops, and a bit briney the way homebrew IPAs can taste some times.
Body is medium with a mild tingle of carbonation.
Drinkable enough but doesn't taste great, just okay. BBC is young and maybe they will tweak this recipe again. As it is now, glad I had it but won't seek it out again.

Pours a deep amber to brown-ish black color with a light tan head. In the aroma, a small roast with a small hop presence. In the taste, a faint, sticky caramel like malt and a faint hop. A hop bite and a thin bodied mouthfeel, with a semi dry caramel roast in the aftertaste. A bit thin, very English. It is OK, but I bet it would be nice on a cask pump.

Pours a chocolate brown you'd expect in a porter with a solid tan head. The taste as the name suggest is definitely a porter but it has solid hints of IPA and is something unique yet really great about it. This isn't a beer that is simply mixing two styles for the sake of it but rather a taste that I definitely appreciate. Mouthfeel is smooth with slight carbonation. I could easily drink a few of these but it's not quite a session beer, for the occasion it was great and I had two full beers.
I had the pleasure of tasting this beer while tailgating in 12 degree weather so my notes on lacing I won't add since it froze near the top quickly!

S: First smells are of rich malts and sweet coffee. Good amount of hops in the middle and turns to a carmel sweetness.
T: Smack instant hops spicey and warm, Carmel and chocolates then hit the senses earthy with a bit bready taste very complex flavors fluttering about the taste buds.
M: Medium to full bodied nice lacing down the glass just riding the rim to the base of the glass.Slightly warming in the middle somewhere.Overall a great beer cannot wait for more frome this brewery.
Thanks to Dan for the meet and greet and cheers to you awesome job !!!

Pours a dark brown almost black color with a khaki to brownish colored one finger head which recedes to skim with som lacing up and down the glass. The aroma is of earthy hops along with coffee and dark mild chocolate. The taste has a roasted malt backbone with hints of dark chocolate and coffee along with a little smokiness and a nice earthy hop bite. The mouthfeel is slightly creamy and well carbonated. The drinkability is easy, it goes down very smooth with enough complexity to keep you interested.

FANTASTIC BEER! I got this out of the first batch of beer at the Beaver Brewing Company straight from the brewery. Pours a nice dark caramel like color. Nice thick head with decent lacing.
The hop flavor is awesome, smells like and IPA & Porter (as the brewer told me was the intention). Small bit of smoke on the back end, bits of chocolate in their too.
Goes down incredibly smooth, no harsh bitter aftertaste. With an ABV around 5% you can drink this one all winter long.
