For those not familiar with this establishment, the name comes from the fish, not the iconic haircut. However, in the entryway are photos of people with mullets.

The building is log cabin style with a mixture of country and nautical decor. Everything is wood except for the corrugated-metal ceiling. The walls are dotted with fishing items, a ships wheel, a mixture of rustic and modern beer signs, and a whole section that has Iowa license plates covering 1930 onward.

The menu has a copious amount of fish on the menu with a good amount of Midwest comfort food. The breakfast menu is pretty hearty. The tap list includes Fat Tire, Bell's, Boulevard, Leinies, and others. The special that day was a hot beef sandwich for 5.95: 2 pieces of Texas toast, a good sized lump of mashed potatoes, a bigger lump of roast beef, covered in beef gravy. That and a Boulevard filed me up.
I've had 3 tap beers there and they seem to have a taste difference, like they're slightly watered down. Perhaps it has to do with the CO2 mix.

Overall I'd say this place is a keeper. It made for a good stop after photographing eagles on the river. One bonus is that Mullets is accessible by road, bike trail, and river.
