Full-bodied, crisp and refreshing American Amber Ale with a malty flavor, rich caramel color, smokey notes and a smooth aromatic finish.

On-tap at Stone Soup, Landrum, SC

I tend to favor local beers whenever I get the chance; TC definitely qualifies as a local brewery for me. Of the three I sampled (Amber, Doppelbock, and Pilsner) at dinner, the amber was my least favorite; HOWEVER, it was stellar with my dinner entree: she-crab soup and Vietnamese duck spring rolls! The very quality that drove the beer down in my book -- too sweet on the tongue -- married it perfectly to the food.

This Greenville, SC-based beer is right down the road from Clemson and has become one of my favorites. A great amber color, a nice subtle aroma of malt and caramel. One of my favorite tasting ambers, and goes down surprisingly smooth. Not as smooth as a Fat Tire, but pretty close considering the ABV. Overall, this is one of my favorite local offerings!

Tough to find a great red ale in my city with the IPA craze. This is one of the better ambers I've tried. It's deceptively easy drinking with a full and pleasant flavor. Bravo to Thomas Creek and hopefully I can continue to find it.
