In brewing Hobo we used a big amount of rye (29 %) and 10 % wheat, plus five different kinds of malted barley. We decided to use hops from America and New Zealand: we used Nelson Sauvin during FWH and in whirlpooling, while in the next two additions we used Amarillo and Cascade.

Amber brown (18) with minimal off white head and little carbonation. Sugar beets and band aid notes. Semi sweet malt, but mostly water. Watery body and very lite.

11.2oz botle poured into a pint glass
A: Hazy mahogany with a thin head
S: The best part of the beer. Noticeable pine/hop notes with a nice malty/caramel background
T: More disjointed than the nose. The malts come through but a bit seeet; the hops take the back burner and aren't showcased at all
M: Medium-bodied and slightly sweet
O: If the taste matched the nose this would be quite good, unfortunately everything is muddled

On-tap. Shaker glass @ Freiburg (Barcelona). Amber color, chill haze appearance. Headed by yellowish, creamy & lasting crown. Lacing rings & spots are left. Candy, caramel & mild toasted malt aromas, hints of ripe apple. Sharp resinous bitterness at first sip based on sticky toasted malt backbone. Medium to full body. Soft carbonation. Unctuous & Oily texture. Spicy & driedpalate. Citrics & resins in the middle linger into a heavy & long bitter finish. Refreshing & easy drinkable.

11.2oz bottle from Northbridge Piggly Wiggly on deep discount... Poured into a tulip glass.
A: Dark; maybe a little too dark for an IPA; thick, creamy head of ecru foam... nice retention and lace.
S: Toasted malt; faint citrus.
T: Toasted malt (again); bread crust; a touch wheaty; not a lot of hop bitterness - citrus pith, perhaps.
M: Medium-full feel; lower carbonation; almost feels murky (like its appearance).
O: OK.

330ml bottle served in a pint glass.
A: Pours a dark amber color forming a small creamy tan head that dissipates quickly leaving only few lacings in the glass
S: Strong notes of caramel malts. Roasted malts and flowery, grassy and a bit earthy hops
T: Slightly sweet upfront. Caramel, caramel malts. Good hops bitterness. Hops are citrus and earthy. In overall, a dry and smooth taste. Balanced
M: Light to medium body. Good carbonation. Caramel malts and flowery hops aftertaste
O: Decent and drinkable but difficult to call it an IPA. It's more for over hopped British bitter
