Dragged the wife and our four month old daughter here on a trip to Los Angeles. Just about a two hour trip from Irvine. Well worth it if you have the time.

Very unassuming little place right off the highway. Blink and you probably miss it. They have a beer store and pub/taproom separated by a couple shops including a book store and hair cut place. Beer store has what you would expect - growler fills, bottle sales (3 per person per beer when we were there) and swag.

When we arrived at the taproom we were warmly greeted by the bartender and offered a seat. Very relaxed atmosphere with what seemed like a local crowd having a beer after a day at work (this was a Thursday afternoon around four). The pub didn't have anything out of the ordinary on while we were there but that was just fine as I had not yet had any of their offerings. You can do a sampler flight of four or six beers. We started with the six before I settled down with a pint of Pure Hoppiness. We had the veggie nachos and a couple of different salads. The nachos were good but the wife and I really enjoyed the salads.

Service was prompt and friendly. Food and beer were very affordable. Of course, I'm used to the Chicago gouging, so this was refreshing. Picked up some bottles of Nelson, PH, and Duet on the way out. Each under $6.

Really cool little place. Would definitely do it again if we could work it out, though it is a bit off the path, especially from LA.

The Alpine Pub is located several blocks down the street from the brewery/tasting room. It's located in a shopping center and lots of space inside and out. The bar area is to the left after you enter the building. The tap list was very similar to what they had at the tasting room.

I didn't order any food. Next time. I hear it's very good.

The server was very nice and friendly. I asked what they had beer-wise for me to take home, as I didn't know what the difference was between the tasting room and their pub. At the pub, they sell Alpine 6-packs to go.

Alpine is located 30 miles east of San Diego and is a small town up in the mountains. The taproom is very comfortable with plenty of high quality IPA's on tap. The staff is very friendly and the beer from the tap is noticeably better than what you may have access to in a bottle shop (which is saying something because the bottles are always good too).

The old pub was awesome. Cool vibe, lots of good tunes playing. Ordered some samples and went out back to sit on picnic tables and enjoy the weather and tunes. Lots of owners with dogs chillin back there. Service was great, all the guys I chatted with were extremely nice and helpful. Could have stayed there all day.

The new pub/restaurant was alright. Had a 45 minute wait for a table on a Saturday at 2:45 PM. Wasn't thrilled with that so we looked inside for a seat at the bar. There are maybe 10 seats, all filled. So, decided to go to the grocery store next door and at a sandwich and bought some beers to enjoy at tables out front.

Loved the old place, new place would probably be cool during non peak times.

Quite different inside now, was here in late October 2014 and this place had tables and chairs like a regular little pub and now it's just a empty room with a bar in the corner by the cooler. Reminds me of the Tree House Brewing Co. in Monson, MA now without the brewery equipment sitting there. But, on the upside, the way upside, more quality offerings and a much bigger selection.

I visited here while staying out in Coronado a couple of days ago and it was a good 45 minute drive. It is located in a strip mall and unless you are on Beer Advocate, I don't think you would know what you were getting into. It was a Thursday shortly after opening. I ordered a pint of Hoppy Birthday to start and then moved onto a sampler of 4 beers that were all delicious IPA's. The 4 oz samples were just right and there is an option to get 6. They even have a list of mainly other California made guest bottles (perhaps for the locals?!) I had the beef brisket sandwich with house made mac & cheese. The sandwich was fantastic and the sauce had a light bit of heat. My wife ordered the filet with blue cheese on top and it was also excellent. The service was great.

*This review is for the old pub* Atmosphere here is what made it for me. Very laid back and casual. Not much seating but the service is good and the food works perfectly with a pint of Nelson! I haven't been to the new one yet and I'm definitely excited to check it out!

NEW LOCATION:
No longer small with nowhere to park.

Both indoor and outdoor seating. Next to Ace Hardware and plenty of parking. Was there on the 2nd day open at this location and there were a few problems with new space and servers - they'll get the kinks worked out. Hoppy beer is what I went there for and they have plenty of good things to choose from. Was unable to write anything without submitting numbers so keep in mind they represent second day open.

Growler fills still at old location up the hill.

I've been here many times since Alpine Brewing Co. opened. It's about time I gave it a rating. Nice little joint to visit. Little tasting room with limited seating. Quality beer and nice service. Visit the restaurant.

Alpine was the highlight of our 14-brewery San Diego visit. We considered not making the drive out, but we are glad that we did. The waitress suggested the fried pickles and the beans for a side - both were outstanding! Flight of Nelson, Duet, Hoppy Birthday, Pure Hoppiness, San Diego Surprise and Captain Stout rivaled the best we had all trip. Finally, takeaway bottles of Nelson and Duet for $5.49 and $5.99 felt like stealing and the merch was great - I bought the "Duet - all night long!" Tee and a buddy got an Alpine Hat that everybody we saw afterwards commented on!
