On tap at Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company in Buellton, CA.
Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and slight coconut aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa, char, and slight coconut flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but has a fairly subdued coconut presence all around.
