Saw this at Trader Joe’s and picked up a can. Not happy with it being two-months-old, but still giving it a go. Back of the can read, “Cocomo IPA features a blend of Centennial and Cascade hops with a float of Mosaic for increased tropicality. We matched this hop profile to the deliciously creamy character of coconut to create a well-balanced and vacation-ready IPA. All you are missing is an umbrella and a Hawaiian shirt.” Not a big coconut fan unless it’s in boozy stouts, porters, etc., but was hoping to be surprised here.

Poured a golden clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of bubble streams coming from the bottom of the glass at different speeds. World-class spiderweb layered lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled Cascade, Centennial, pine, lime, coconut, lemon, hints of Mosaic, floral, dish soap, herbal and green leaf. Pretty much the same from the can with a little more coconut. Was digging it. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted different than the nose with much more coconut. Got coconut, Cascade, pine, lime, dry Centennial, herbal, lemon zest, dish soap and green leaf. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.25)

An outstanding beer overall. Better than I thought it was going to be. (Overall - 4.00)

Sweet hoppy nose on this one. Unfortunately,
the aromatics don't stand out much. Taste follows somewhat, but it is missing heavier/creamier coconut notes that you would expect with a coconut IPA...

L: A clear and crisp-looking golden yellow, minimal head, no visible carbonation rising up the beer.
S: A combination of pine-citrus hops, tropical fruit hops, and coconut
T: Taste is in many ways similar to the smell. The coconut is definitely present, at least at the beginning of the sip, then the hops take over.
F: Medium bodied, moderately crisp. Slightly sticky feel.
