Sort of taste like a less hoppy ballast point ipl. I don't think this is an ipa. But this is defiantly drinkable

i found this one to be a little dull. i mean, there are not mistakes, off flavors, and other negatives really, it just blends in far too easily with the crowd of west coast ipa. maybe a little more malt balance than i personally am after, maybe not, maybe the hops are just underdone a little bit, maybe the beer isnt all that fresh, there could be multiple factors at work. a touch of medium crystal malt in here adds some caramel color and a bit of body as well. not all of the sweetness is fermented down, so the beer feels unnecessarily rich for the style. hops are just sort of meh, balancing bitterness and maybe a little resinous citrus, but its so mild compared to its peers, it almost doesnt even feel like an ipa to me. the beer tastes good though, it just doesnt match what i look for in west coast ipa. the other beers from these guys are much more compelling.
