I've only had a few, but all of the lagers I've had from Figueroa Mountain have been excellent (and it's no surprise, then, that they absolutely cleaned up in lager categories at the most recent GABF). This one is full of sweet, caramel malt notes, but nothing cloying, everything cleaning up so very nicely thanks to a healthy presence of lager yeast. Really satisfying in a style that I'd not otherwise expect to enjoy so much.

A great Vienna Lager. Nice Red color, strong malt smell, very malty taste with an inoffensive aftertaste. Feels a little thick, and kind of coats the mouth.

When I first smelled this, I thought I was in store for a boring beer. On taste though...very easy to drink. Biscuit and toasty grain notes more than anything. My glass was empty before I knew it; this would be great for a night out drinking with friends.

This red lager pours a dark russet color with a somewhat minimal head that quickly disappears entirely amidst loads of carbonation. The smell is sweet and malty and faintly fruity. This is a nice medium bodied lager that uses some good malts to give it a caramel, toasted bread flavor. There’s not too much going on here, but red ales / lagers aren’t the most complex of styles. It is a nice smooth, session type beer though. This is a solid beer for a fall day.

Nice amber red, and very clear appearance. Smells of sweet malt and biscuit. Rich malty taste and feel, almost too thick, deceiving of what you would think for a lower abv lager. Good, but not to consume in large quantities. Cheers!

A: The beer is clear amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that died down, leaving a collar around the edge and a thin head covering the surface.
S: Light aromas of sweet toasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has light to moderate flavors of toasted and caramel malts along with bits of associated sweetness.
M: It feels clean and a bit shy of being medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn't nearly as malty compared to some of the other beers in the style and it seems like some malt extracts were used in the ingredients.
