The ever evolving brewpub doors at this location. I can't count the number of different owners/entities in this place. Each place seems to offer the standard stuff. I don't know what the problem is. On one hand, they (current and previous incarnations) make pedestrian stuff that would seem appropriate for a below average beer community. But that has never cut it. So hopefully, there will be some risk taking, adventurous brews to come out of this place.

Anyways, cool place, wide open space, right on the main drag across from the Legislature, Supreme Court and on the same side of the street as the Attorney General's building. Brew kettles prominently displayed, good tv locations, plenty of tables, they've added a back patio which looks inviting come warmer weather.

Quality, eh, average. The usual styles, pilsner, wheat, blonde, pale, amber, irish red, ipa, stout, so average selection. Black Pussy Stout is the best, even if it is a little thin viscosity wise for a stout. Service was good, bartender wasn't the most knowledgeable about beer, but friendly.

Food was decent, pepper jack burger lacked any kick to it. Might as well have just been monterey jack on the burger. $10 for a burger.

I fully appreciate the dilemma the brewmaster/owner is in here. Not a beer town. But the previous models made the same typical styles, toned down for people who don't like a lot of flavor in their beer, and those business models failed. I'd recommend doing something exotic, maybe see if you can get a hodgepodge of people, even beer geeks in there regularly.

Another bummer: That cute nerd chick from the Doppeldanger's commercials prolly won't be on tv anytime soon. Damn she was fine.

I haven't been to the Carson City Brewery, but I absolutely love High Sierra Buzzed Bee Honey Ale. I was not a beer lover because of the bitter after taste most beer have. Then I saw this beer at Costco and it called to me so I bought a few to try. I love sitting in our backyard and sharing a beer and watching the golfers go by on a hot summer afternoon. Every time I go into Costco I check for the beer. But they don't seem to restock it. Why? I finally was lucky enough to go in when they did restock and I bought a bunch. But I am out and so is Costco. I thought it might be seasonal, but according to what I saw on the website it is not. Everyone I have introduced to it loves it. The problem is keeping it stocked. Because of this beer I have been willing to taste test other beers at our local Yard House and have found a couple others that I like, but Buzzed Bee Honey Ale is my #1.

Very pedestrian and vanilla across the board. The beers are not very complex and stylistaclly the are very safe. The food is typical dive bar style food but not in the super good-old-greasy-spoon kind of way. I went once and have not been back but it could be worth a try once if for people who arent really into beer/just starting to drink good beer. The location is in a great spot down town and there is potential if the changed brewers/ let the brewer experiment more, that can sometime be an issue if they are making beers and serving food like that on purpose

This micro is in a really old building that has been restored to a pleasant condition, no real plus or minus in the atmosphere area.
I guess it has been many failed pubs and other business over the years.
For beer I tried the IPA which was quite good, this is a new operation so it usually takes a while to produce a good product, so I was a little surprised.I also tried the Pilsner which was also good. There are so many different styles of Pilsner and I could drink this often.
Service was terrible, one person for the bar and tables. they werent packed but busy. When she finally got to me I ordered both beers and paid her all at the same time as I new she would never be back.
The food I did see being delivered to the tables looked good. I wish them well.

This brewery was very good. Very impressed with the range and selection of beers they make. They make an IPA, however, since I cannot drink this style of beer I did not taste it. We did taste the Pilsner, the 4' 10" Jen Blonde Ale, Buzzard Bee Honey Ale, Seamus O'Faolian Irish Red Lager, Pan Handler Amber Ale, & Black Pussy Kat Stout. My favorite beer was the Black Pussy Kat Stout. Though all the beers I sampled were good. My second favorite was the Pilsner. The Black Pussy Kat Stout has a strong roasted malt nose with hints of coffee. A very black and dark color with a thin cream-colored head with lacing. It is very thick in the mouth with flavors of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. A slight bitterness on the finish that clears out, quickly.
