Served in a Belgian tulip at La Cumbre's brewery on the day of the tapping, August 6, 2014.

Orange colored and cloudy with a red hue. Almost glowing in appearance. The head is a finger and a half of pale white foam. Settles in a layer of lace over the body.

Smells rather malty, orchard- like fruit and some tartness and sweet. It's grainy and almost granola-like. Hard to detect much else.

Abundant with fruitiness, it truly tastes like apricot, including some of the tartness. A nice balance of of vanilla gives this a kind of peaches and cream deal. Still, there's the earthy saison quality and that flavor like fresh lilies. At the finish, the apricot lingers on my tongue.

Tartness will hit you on this one, but this beer is creamy and thick-bodied. A lot of malt balances out the heaps of apricot. It's got a semi-dry finish and medium carbonation to boot. There's not a hint of booze.

It's tasty. I could enjoy several of these. The nose was a bit of a letdown, but otherwise this beer shines.

Doing a review because this one's "almost there" for a score. Basic summary: This really is an apricot saison! Says it all.

Pours medium orange with a nice white head that fades fast.

Nose is light but fresh with clean stone fruit.

Mouth feel is medium to full; nice carbonation and cool balance.

Flavor profile is ALL APRICOT. I love the fact that it actually IS what it purports to be. Don't try this one if you don't like apricot. Tastes like an apricot puree was poured into a fresh clean saison - and it works. Rich apricot tones and flavor profile all the way.

Finish is sweet orange apricot that goes to a bit bitter in the finish. Nice job.

Pours a hazy golden orange color with a soapy white head that leaves chunks of lacing.

Smells of the apricots and some yeast.

Tastes of the apricots with a bit of tartness and spice. Apricots lead off with a nice tartness. Malts add in a bit of grainy sweetness. A bit of earthy hops come next. This leads into some yeast spice with notes of clove, pepper, and some coriander. Finishes with a lingering tart note.

Mouthfeel is medium with a crisp amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a nice fruity saison.
