L: Pours a brighter yellow gold with a medium head and some lacing on the glass
S: Light tropical fruit, intermingles with a strong piney dank bitterness. Definitely hints of orange and lemon but overall quite piney and dank.
T: Little bit of lemon and grapefruit, followed by a stronger piney bitterness and a good amount of dank hops. Pretty solid but I think I like the original Project Dank better.
F: Medium body, good carbonation.
O: A very nice West Coast Style IPA.

On tap at Three Rivers Distillery, Farmington, New Mexico.
Nothing exciting. Like, it’s still good, but not as good as the original. It’s not like when you found out what the naughty Disney animators did to the front of the Little Mermaid vhs artwork (horny sons of guns). Anyway, seeing that I am in Farmington, I’m just glad that it doesn’t make Raul want to sell the farm. Overall, it doesn’t inspire a lot of inspiration - which is a bit sad. Then again, not every beer can be reminiscent of first time ecstasy’ experiences with certain things. Concluding, here I am, in Farmington, New Mexico - and I’ll just leave it at that.

This one poured a bright yellow-gold, extremely clear with a nice white head. Slowly faded into a solid film throughout the drink with great clinging/lacing. Aroma of fruity citrus hops, pine, a touch of floral, with sweet notes. Taste was of citrus and pine with a nice balancing hop bitterness. Surprisingly light on the mouthfeel, almost delicate. Light/medium carbonation. To me this was a great example of a very well crafted beer that showcased the fruit notes of the hops with the accompanying bitterness, with a deft touch on the body. You are not going to find a beer like this from the myriad of craft beer startups that have sprung up everywhere. This is a perfect example of a true CRAFT beer. Well done, LaCumbre.

Wonderful light gold body, clear; beautiful carbonation; dense and creamy head, white and sticky. Dank and piney aroma, perhaps a touch of floral notes. Outstanding taste; very mild malt presence with a bold and exquisite hop presence; very light bread crust; pine resin; well-disguised citrus element; peppery. Medium body; crisp and prickly on the palate; sticky dryness.
For me, this is probably one of the best editions of 'Project Dank' I've had the pleasure of drinking. I do wish La Cumbre would provide some additional information such as the hop profile used and other pertinent data. Regardless, the beer itself speaks for itself. This 2021 edition is outstanding!
Poured at 46 °F; canning info: CO 09/08/21

16 oz. Can

Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice clean/clear dark golden orangy color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango), nice piney. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango), pretty nice pineyness. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. Glad to still see it around here.

Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop cooler 11-7-18 for $4.49. Canned on 10-1-18; best by 12-31-18; consumed on 1-17-19. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured gold with a nice white head that is leaving rings.
Nose is dank, fresh grapefruit and herbal hops abound.
Taste is very dank as well! Grapefruit and pine dominate the light malt base leaving a light to medium prickly residual bitterness.
Mouthfeel is light and refreshing.
Overall still a delicious old school WCIPA!

Pours an effervescent a faintly hazed bronze with 2+ fingers of rocky ivory colored head. Above average head retention & lacing
S: Some pine, a little grapefruit, oranges late in the game
T: Follows the nose, a little orange & mango as well plus dryness upfront, along with dryness. Dryness, grapefruit & pine as this warms, a little orange as well. Finishes dry with pine, grapefruit, plenty of orange & just a little bready sweetness & some catty notes very late
MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, nice balance
Lovely IPA, very drinkable

Enjoyed this from the can in an IPA glass
the color is deep amber with good clarity and healthy off white head
the smell has a fragrant hop aroma with slight herbaceous and mildly fruity quality
the feel is very good with plenty of hop bitterness yet good malt foundation with moderate carbonation and semi-dry finish
The taste is very good with a nice amount of hop flavor with subtle pine-like and citrus and pepper quality with mango and slight pineapple element with light grapefruit and gentle yeast quality with finish on the dry side.
This is an exceptional IPA, worthy of its place in the list of greats in terms of aroma, feel and flavor with fresh hoppiness yet dry quenching and juicy citrus/tropical aspects

A 16oz. can dated 09/27/18 poured in a Storm Peak 'Dogfishhead' style IPA glass. The brewery Instagram states it's the second of the canned editions of Project Dank and the label states 'An Experimental IPA'.
Look- Pours a clean translucent sparkling gold revealing a small finger of creamy white foam. It slowly settles to a thin layer with a little lacing present.
Smell- Dank like the name! Weed, floral, spice, and a little onion.
Taste- Dank weed, floral spice, pine, pepper and a kiss of malt in the finish.
Feel- Crisp and clean with a bitter dry finish.
Overall- I've searched to pin down more info on this beer but couldn't find much. It smells and tastes like one stellar wet hop ale! I wonder what they mean by experimental? The hops? Whatever the case, this is one beer worth checking out. A wonderful change from all the smooth haze flooding today's IPA market.
