This pint of brew, served on cask, pours a slightly hazy, dark yellow to orange color--an unusual color for the style. The foam was a few centimeters thick. The aroma strongly invokes pine and citrus, signaling that hops is the main event here. On the palate, this thing is a bulldozer of hops. It plows its way forward destroying everything in its path. Your taste buds are shredded. The deep piney and pithy grapefruit hops mix nicely here producing some depth for such an aggressively hopped beer.

Hop insanity..just like their website warns you!

Poured into a signature 'La Cumbre' pils glass.

Aroma floral hops and grapefruit along with grapefruit peels. Super nice thick head with minimal large bubbles, retained well with nice lacing. Appearance, golden yellow, darker than I expected. Taste of hops domination...floral, and citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, and a touch of buttery notes. Hop resin leaves you wanting more at the aftertaste. Alchohol taste is somehow hidden. Good carbonation but no bubble show. Medium to light bodied. Overall this is a beer with a kick and then some, lives to it's name...It is a limited brew...and definitely would like to try it again.

Thanks to GHB!

Pours a soft medium yellow, clarity, white finger of soapy bubbles. Had nice lacing. The aroma was tropical and fruity, with flowery touches and grass. Some mango and pineapple specifically, but not intensely pungent. Taste...POW tropical explosion! Mango, and touches of peach, orange, hibiscus, fresh grass. Bitterness was stark, I'd venture 70-90 IBUs, but not breaching threshold. Lighter, very easy drinking, not filling, good carbonation, drinkability was awesome. Killed the growler with a friend and it was cake. Fantastic IPA!

Appearance: So pale and golden it could be mistaken for a lager. Two fingers of froth cling to the glass, leaving rings of lacing.

Smell: Heavy on juicy ripe tropical fruit aromatics. Wow, this smells outstanding. Guava, mango, grapefruit, a trace of pineapple. I'm guessing that simcoe is the dominant hop, but there's a touch of nelson in here lending a note of gooseberry and white pepper. Malt is completely absent from the aroma.

Palate: Juicy mango and guava followed by spicy, bitter grapefruit. A bit peppery toward the finish with a blast of coating bitter resin. Faint sweetness, but little malt flavor - the pils malt base works really well here. This has a layered, complex hop profile that's bursting with tropical fruit flavors.

Overall: Possibly the best LCBC beer to date.
