Nice space in an industrial park area, this is a place fitting the quality of this brewery. Great selection of beers across multiple styles, with many of the beers available in to-go 4-packs. Very good service, and food trucks available if you need to get your eat on. This place is absolutely worth a visit if you’re a beer nerd in Albuquerque.

La Cumbre Albuquerque NM - GIRARD location

Mid sized with outdoor seating in front, 2 levels, cozy with an l shaped bar, long communal tables and lots of NM infused atmosphere.

Quality purveyors of hazies, tasty tasty tasty stuff.

No food, until the food trucks show up

10 of their own on tap with loads of cans available to go

Mellow with bluegrass music playing and a friendly crowd gathering.

Quality and enjoyable spot to enjoy some fine beers at. Friendly bartender is always a plus.

I really enjoyed my visit here. Casual, friendly atmosphere and of course a herd of mighty fine brews for here or to go.

Well worth a visit if you are local or just passing thru, as I was.

Visited for I think the third time today, a Friday, early afternoon. Went with my brother and my Mom. Not too busy, but certainly not dead. Bartender was friendly and helpful, even though he was stretched a bit thin.

Every time I've been here, I've had a good experience. They make good beer, it's a cool place, and they have maybe 20 taps or something like that. 100% recommend, one of the best places I've visited in Albuquerque.

This place is old school in that it has a wide range of beers available, it's not just centered around what is most well known (Elevated and other hops) so it's cool that it caters to a wide audience, not just those who've been fortunate enough to have the Elevated nectar.

Yeah, we’re really in New Mexico en route to Colorado the long way around 2 days from now. Ask not whose idea that one was, you know very well who I am. It’s the night now of the day we flew out here early morning from back East. Already improperly edumacated on the red/green chili situation, but I got my head burrito-fixed just the same. And then we set out after dark, an entertaining Uber ride from the hotel away….

In something of an industrial stand-alone zone easily located by its bright colorful sign and the large attached silo. Hey, what smells like a goddamn pizza? (Oh, it’s the wood fired pizza truck out front). And through the pen and in. Tall front windows with a giant hop piece and a very cool bottle chandelier in the entranceway. Concrete floors, beige & green walls, rafter ceilings over the bar and wraparound ductwork tracing the space where the ceiling ends looking upstairs. Can art, GABF & World Beer Cup medals framed, and NM license plate lamps over tables here and there.

Along the rear, an ‘L’ shaped dark wood 3 panel piece topped bar under laminate plexi with a worn trim lip, curvy corrugated base, and phat black foot rail. Seating for maybe 10, when all filled in, on large clunky wood chairs. Drop rusted and holey tin fez hat drop lamps tracing above the bar. 20 non-descript knob handled taps on a stainless panel with a corrugated base & overhang in the barback corner angled. A single shelf up high to the left with bottles & cans over hung 6 slot stave sampler racks (of which I will now lighten their load by one). Next to that, a framed 4x8 horizontal board listing tap selections in alt colored somethings (Beer, ABV, & IBU), with a ‘Please respect our 3 beer limit’ sign above, and sinkage below. Glassware countered for the easy grab. A single small TV on the end and a can cooler on the end end. Shirts & swag on the other end end; down where we be.

Parked at the bar looking for a beers and you realize that you've traveled 2000 miles from home and the bartender is wearing an ‘Other Half’ shirt. That shit would be ironic if it happened in Brooklyn, I don’t know what we call it when the irony goes on the road.

16 beers (A Slice of Hefen, Hefeweizen, 5.4%; Beer, Light Lager, 4.7%; Project Dank, IPA 7.5%; Sun Fade, Hazy IPA, 7.2%; What’s the Alternative, Altbier, 5%; Miles from Cologne, Kolsch, 4.8%; Dortmunder, 5.9%; Elevated IPA, 7.2%; Pyramid Rock, Amber, 5.8%; Malpais Stout, Foreign Export Stout, 7.5%; Ryeot IPA, Rye IPA, 6.5%; Endless Horizon, Foreign Export Stout, collab with Beachwood, 7.5%; A Wise Man’s Fear, DIPA, 8.2%; Oktoberfest, 5.8%; Full Nelson, DIPA, 9%; Mango Pineapple Gose, 5%), and a guest local cider (Tractor Dry hard Cider, 6.9%).

I got through 7 on sampler and shorty (A Slice of Hefen, Hefeweizen, bananananana, good Hefe; Project Dank, IPA, yeah, it’s got the dank a-going on; Dortmunder, nailed it; Elevated IPA, their flagship, it is a lovely West Coast IPA; Malpais Stout, Foreign Export Stout, roast, sure; Endless Horizon, Foreign Export Stout, black strap molasses & licorice; Oktoberfest, 5.8%). Not a clunker in the lot.

2 rows of hightops off the bar for the share, and 2 shortys of the same further out. Beyond there, a side room with a bake’s dozen tables; mostly 2’s and a pair of long shareds. Yellow walls over shared wood bench vertical plank backings and some vibrant ‘the day of the dead on hops’ mural action. Someone’s really awesome OG bottle collection lining the ceiling sills. I’m talking Brooklyn Brown Dark Ale, Pete’s Bohemian Pils, Catamount Christmas, New England Oatmeal Stout, Commonwealth Burton, Celis Grand Cru, Grants IPA, Anchor OSA ’98, Alexander Rodenbach, and on and on. And all at once I got 90’s craft beer longing and sad. Some framed art, it is for sale (and hey, what do you want for that old Brooklyn Brown Dark Ale bottle? I needs it!), and a 4x8 horizontal board with logo piece.

There is an upstairs room with seating & foosball, and a space out front with 8 tables horizontally & vertically battleship style penned up front (we came through it, there was pizza, focus). Planters along the perimeter and ping pong ball lighting strung.

Mariotending this evening, he is the jam. Good tunes, chill house, and excellent beer. We like this place a lot!

Stopped in one evening and had a few beers with my wife. I started off with the brut ipa, can't remember the name and my wife had el jugo (hazy ipa) both were excellent. Next up I had chew and swallow oatmeal stout and my wife had acclimated pa, both very solid. Got a shirt and growler of the brut, and some to go 4 packs and a big bottle of father nelson. All were fantastic. Definitely recommend to anyone passing through Albuquerque. No food but the night we were there they had a food truck and it looked purdy tasty. Cheers.

Cool brewery in an industrial section of town. Definite local vibe. L-shaped bar on left seats a dozen. Counter bar and tables opposite the bar, as well as, outdoor patio area. A dozen beers on tap, the 2 I had were excellent. Friendly bartender, very relaxed atmosphere.

i have been enjoying the beer these guys make for years, long before they came to colorado with their stuff, so it was awesome to finally get down and be able to check out their spot! its cool too, with a big patio out front, chili peppers blowing in the wind, it feels southwestern, and tons of wood inside, low ceilings, bar on the left, all wood, very humble and cozy, with a comfortable sitting room off to the right, like a mini beer hall, very cool vibe in here, mellow and relaxed, a perfect place to drink on some of their awesome beers. i loved all of them that i had here, but the big door prize mosaic double ipa blew me away, as did the barrel aged malpais stout on nitro with cocoa nibs and coconut, but all of them were excellent, these guys are arguably making the best beer in town, certainly some of the most refined and professional, and their spot is such a cool place to enjoy it. i sat comfortably in the back on a wooden bench and got some work done, sipped beer, and let the time pass. service was awesome, she knew a lot about the beers and was attentive, especially considering she was the only one working. some views to the brewing operation on the way to the bathroom, but its not such an obvious feature of this place. i could see this just bumpin out on the patio on a nice saturday afternoon, but i enjoyed my more relaxed experience in here too. tons of respect for this beer, it was wonderful to get to see where it comes from!

Cool place with a great vibe and awesome beers. Stopped by late on a Saturday afternoon to pick up some beer to take home and a t-shirt. Patio was nearly full as was the bar. Lots of seating on the first floor and they have an upstairs too. Vibe was cool, nice mix of folks who all looked like they were enjoying themselves. The two bartenders on duty had their hands full so the wait was a bit long, but they had great attitudes and took care of me. Had a pint of their Project Dank. Simply outstanding beer. Great experience at La Cumbre. I will stop in every time I'm in ABQ.

Stopped in on a weekday evening in July. The bar and outdoor patio were fairly full but not over-crowded. The decor was funky and Southwest-inspired. The vibe was friendly and casual. Table service was OK, but not super-attentive. They did not have food, but a food truck was parked out front. The beer selection was very heavy on hops, with several IPAs and DIPAs. The IPAs I sampled were decent but not too exciting to me, but I was absolutely blown away by their Hefeweizen.

This was a good tasting room and hopheads will be very happy. Non-hopheads like me will be less happy, but happy nonetheless.

Nice to see the cover story in the latest BA on your tasting room. In any case, if you have never given La Cumbre a stop, you ought to, should be REQUIRED for any love of fine craft in the Southwest. The strange metallic looking shed of a building doesn't promise much from the outside, and it's in an interesting part of town, hard to connect to downtown, but once inside... it's all good - great stuff, great staff, good relaxed vibe, food trucks that rotate, and the pirate-English speaking owners of the joint. Love it, can't wait to get back to ABQ to do another stop there. Tack on a visit to Marble and Bosque while you're at it - Albuquerque has some great (hoppy) beers, folks!

I wanted to take some time off, and I always wanted to visit Albuquerque and Santa Fe, so here I am. A trip to Albuquerque wouldn't be complete without a visit to La Cumbre.

Very solid place. It's located in an industrial area. There was a food truck serving food, and they had a front patio area. Inside were more tables and a bar area with monitors. They had empty beer bottles from various breweries from around the country decorating the inside. They probably had 10 or so beers on tap. The production area was in the back where you could take a peek from the door next to the restrooms.

The servers were great. Very friendly and attentive. I had an Elevated IPA, Project Dank, and Malpais Stout. Fantastic beers.

Great place. Now time to explore the two cities.
