Went several times across many days and timeslots in January, not a Friday night.

Can I review this place without noting the location? Nope - it is right there in Melbourne... Opposite Flinders St Station. Opposite Fed Square.

Iconic.

Big, big building, multi level, high ceilings, many rooms and bars. The main downstairs bar has the Big TV, which kinda turns it into sports central, back bar is better. Crowd get a bit more raucous as the night wears on and you realise it is a pub in the centre of town, not a craft beer mecca in Hipsterville.

At least two dozen taps. More NSW rarities than you see in NSW on the rotating board, as well. Prices not too steep, around $5 for small. Feral on as well.

Staff varied. Lowlight being asking for something nice and malty and being offered the Pilsner.

Have to go kinda place.

What a Great place to drink beer - right in the heart of Melbourne, opposite Flinders Street Station. Easy to get to and relaxing to sit in - watching the World go by.

Has three levels with the cider bar at top (Great range of ciders and would be excellent in Summer with the open roof),
a bar on the second level, with dining and couches etc - set-up as the classy level with a few top quality craft beers that you can't get downstairs (on the night I was there - Moobrew belgo, Mountain Goat 3rd nut and Otway estate red ale)
and finally downstairs with a good range of craft beer mixed in with a few mainstream beers, as well as tables for dining, couches, tv screen with sport etc (also a good level to watch the people and scenes outside)

food was very good and reasonably priced - had tapas and share plates, traditional pub food, cheeses and many more options that would please most people.

Overall a great venue, brilliant location and one of Melbourne's best options if you're interested in a few pints of quality beer

Located in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. It is a local icon and has a very Australian character. They have a good number of beers on tap including some craft beers that rotate on a fairly regular basis. The food is quite good and the prices seem reasonable. It is an interesting place to check out and don’t forget to see Chloe.

I guess this is Melbourne's iconic pub, opposite Flinders Street Station and a huge venue across multiple levels.

Really nice atmosphere inside, plenty of wood, old chairs and tables are comfy and cool. Nice homely feeling. Good buzz about the place and doesn't need a lot of hard surfaces to achieve it.

Seems to cater well for all, which I guess is a must given the location. Decent VIC micros on tap, ok wine listand spirits.

Service was good for an Aussie pub, nice and friendly, but nothing to exceed any expectations.

Decent selection of beer, Bridge Road India Saison on which was cool, nice local micros as well.

Prices are ok given the situation (iconic pub, centre of town, craft beer) etc. Expect just under $5 for a half-pint.
