Foggy dull maize, almost tannish-brown, with a very thin off-white head.
A definitive notch above their helles, it's sweet but balanced, giving off cornbread vibes with a slight contrast of grassy hops via a satisfyingly medium body that has a fine but substantial fizz.
Hell, it's more in line with my understanding of helles than their helles was.

Pours a slightly hazy amber, with a dusting of white head. Mild biscuit aroma, with a touch of earthy hops in the background. Light bodied, with a touch of sweet caramel, fading to a dry mildly bitter finish. Overall not a bad Dortmunder.

Having this beer on-tap at the brewpub. Served in a standard pint glass, this beer draws pretty clear, light to medium golden color with a white head that’s about an inch thick when first drawn and served. Head settles to a thick white ring lining the inside of the glass along with some small cluster swirls of surface foam. Aromas of some crisp, slightly bready and biscuity malts that give way to some floral hops. A very similar flavor profile here, with slightly bready and slightly biscuity malts with slight sweetness. A very clean malt flavor here, if that makes any sense. Perhaps just a bit of wheat, but then again maybe not. Rounded out with just a slight hint of peppery spice and some floral hops that add a bit of bitterness and balance out the overall flavor profile. Has a mainly crisp, also smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish. A solid beer, but not great. I certainly enjoyed it though, as I have not had a beer of this style in quite some time.

I bought the Barnburner at the Drug Mart in Williard, Ohio. It poured a golden clear with white head that dissipates quickly and no lace. The scent has some biscuit tones. The taste is evenly balanced and easy to drink. There is a bread base that make it tasty. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with decent carbonation. Overall it decent and would have this one again.

Barnburner Lager - Lagerheads Smokehouse & Brewing Co. Poured from the bottle into a glass mug, two fingers thick off-white head, spottier lacing, and a clear golden body.
The scent I'm picking up with this beer is rich grains and malts. No hop bitterness in this beer.
I can taste very hearty grains maybe even some oats in there.
Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, nothing lingers with this brew.
I'll give Barnburner Lager - Lagerheads Smokehouse & Brewing Co. an overall 3.25. I probably will never buy this beer again.
