Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits

Typical Hy Vee...gotta love these places for all your food needs, beer, wine and alcohol options on steroids.

The beer/booze/wine is located in a seperate part of the store.

They seemingly have all the available beer options in distribution in the local area...you will find loads of national, regional and local good stuff....fine first place to hit up if visiting the area.

This is a brand new Hy-Vee opened on January 18, 2011 on the north side of 152 Highway, 2 blocks East of I-35 in Liberty, MO. The liquor/wine/beer department has a separate outside entrance from the main grocery store. There are also 5-6 parkings spots dedicated to liquor/wine/beer customers only, so you can zip right up to the front door.

I was impressed by the selection of craft beers (the wine selection appeared to be off the charts if this is your or your significant other's thing), the best selection I've come across in the KC "Northland."

They had approx. 50 bottles to choose from to make your own $8.99 "mix and match" sixer. I started off with Spaten Optimator, Fransizkaner Hefe-Weisse, Boulevard Irish Ale, Schlafly No. 15, Leine 1888 Bock, and an SA Noble Pils. Many six-packs were on sale for $6.99-$7.49.

Craft beers are in an approx. 40-foot open cooler ranging from six-packs of BMC-produced crafts to 750s of Duvel, Delirium, Samuel Smith, Trappistes Rochefort, etc.

This location is also starting a "craft beer club." I signed up, the details were a little sketchy but sounds like they will send out emails re: tastings and specials.
