Campfire is a full-bodied, robust smoked porter. We put a lot of love into this beer – hand-smoking the malt on local applewood, giving this beer a very appealing and balanced smoky flavor & aroma. The result? Jet-black roasty toasty goodness.
Since we took care to craft this beer with just the right balance of smokiness, you can pair Campfire with a wide variety of foods – especially barbecue! Or, for dessert, you might want to simulate a beautiful night outdoors by pairing Campfire with S’mores!

Purchased @ Somersworth Village Market, Somersworth NH
Price - $7.99/bomber
After hearing some buzz about this new brewery I got the opportunity to sample a couple of their beers from their line up, this being one of them thanks to Mike.
Pours nearly pitch black with a fairly quick fading 1 inch frothy tan head. A creamy layer of foam is all that's left behind outlining the inner glass. A good set of legs drape the sides and although unfiltered, not much sediment appears more cloudy than anything.
The nose is unique with an obvious scent of smoke but more interesting is the aroma of apple from the applewood which was used in the smoking process.
The flavor starts out with a quick flash of sweetness followed by bacon, charred malt and coffee beans. The smoke may be overwhelming to some but I find it enjoyable.
The body is light with a silky smooth feel and a good amount of carbonation. In the middle a slight hop bitterness kisses the taste buds followed by some dryness.
The drinkability was fairly good. This is a smoked version of a porter which I found to be in a young state. It could use a bit more flavor as well as more depth to the aroma.

From a 32oz growler poured a couple days ago.
Pours a dark brown color with no head and very little bubbles shown, no lacing.
Smell has a deep smoky aroma which pretty much overwhelms any other aspect.
Taste starts out with the smoked malt front, not picking up much from the applewood, pretty much smoke, can't pick up much else in the same way a cigarette affects food, fine carbonation with a good body.

Modest tan head which leaves some miniature spots. Garnet brown color where light only shines through on the edges.
Smoky, dark malt smell. I smell some sweet Cadbury chocolate in the background.
This is more smoky than Throwback Double Dippity Smoked Double Brown Ale. Relatively thin body with an elevated carbonation level. Some bitterness in the swallow, but it is mostly smoky. The porter flavor are lighter than most.

Sampled from a 22oz bottle in a standard pint glass.
A - Deep, dark brown, almost black, with some light coming through around the edges. A small beige head.
S - Smoke and roasted malts with some chocolate and brown sugar. More of a roasted smell than I'd expect from a porter.
T - A nice moderate level of smoke. It's clearly there but doesn't dominate. Nice malt flavors accompany it. There's a hint of sweetness throughout.
M - A moderate consistency and carbonation with a slightly creamy texture.
O - I thought it was a little heavy on the roasted malts for a porter but a nice, tasty beer.
