Smell and appearance was there, but taste was too boozy for me. Hops also seemed on-dimensional, not in a good way.

Another solid offering from the guys and gals at TBK. I love simcoe hopped beers and this is no exception. It has a bit of sweetness to it but the hips run the show. I do prefer El Lupolo Libre but I would absolutely recommend this to any hop head.

I give an overall 4 because I like Brew Kettle but thus wasn't a great IPA. :(

Old 21 tastes great, drinks easy, and hides it's ABV well. The feel, like others from this brewer, is a bit flat. Fairly dark in color, good nose, smooth taste. Good job BrewKettle.

I love this beer. It isn't an earth-shattering, expectation demanding beer. Just a really nice stand by to have on hand. I live in Boston and get to Cleveland every year and always pick some of this and other hoppy brew kettle offerings up.
The mouthfeel and body is the best part of this beer. It goes down real easy and has a great pine dominant, yet floral hop taste with just the right amount of malty, slightly caramel sweetness. It doesn't lay too hard on the palette, which makes all the difference in the world.

Golden amber with minimal head, moderately sticky lacing.
Round, soft sweet fruit aromas, not quite as bright as tropical citrus, but sweeter than dark fruit. Kind of like bubblegum.
Bready malts strongly support the hops, probably too much for the modern hop head. There are mildly spicy hops.
This is balanced, not extreme. The alcohol creeps up on you though.

The old 21 is one of the better imperial ipas that I have had. The beer poured a clear orangish with thin white head that is leaving a lace. The scent is very hoppy....pine and citrus. The taste is nicely balanced....slightly sweet to start then finishes with a piney resin. The Mouthfeel was fuller in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.
