Ringnecks attept to please the masses is this macro style lager.

Appearance: nice amber color with 1/4" head that reduced to lacing

Smell: nothing impressive here.

Taste: Poor... I think Miller Lite has more taste than this.

Mouthfeel: Not smooth at all.

If you ever go to the Brew Kettle, you are better off drinking water that drinking this beer.

Bottle from the brewery. Your basic lager. Nothing to look at,medium yellow. Neutral smell to say the best. Average mouthfeel, above average carbonation. Not very drinkable, but passable just not interesting.Macro beer subsistitute. Better stuff is brewed here.

Pretty boring beer.

A- Pours a crystal clear light gold color with a very thin white head. Looks like all the other macros.

S- Grainy, a bit of grassy hops and a light sweet.

T- Not a whole lot different than any other macro. A touch sweeter.

M- Just like all the other macros.

D- Super easy to drink and I suppose I'd take this one over a Bud or Miller. I'm just not a fan of this style at all.

Classic crystal clear golden lager with very little head leaving only a spotty white film on top.

Sweet bready pear, light lemon, and very fruity butter waft off the glass.

A different sort of lager, with raisin and grape characteristics somehow being showcased, with a very sweet corn element.

This is easy to drink, but not necessarily thoroughly enjoyable. A bit tingly, but also a little boring after a while, although it must be said, this is many number of steps up from a typical AAL.

Draft at The Brew Kettle.

Pours a clear golden color with an average creamy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate malt and hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.

My expectations where met.

Many thanks to csmiley for the bottle.

Appearance: It's very clear and pours a light golden color. It's more colorful than it's macro colleagues, but only above average. Head is foamy white and about a finger deep. It dissipated quickly and left spotty lacing lining the glass.

Smell: It's light on the nose. Not uncommon for the style. Is it possible to make a macro lager smell good? It's got a nice, caramel malt base and smells sweet. It's grainy and earthy. It's lightly hopped, but hops are noteable. Pretty impressive for a macro style lager. That pretty much wraps it up.

Taste: Caramel malts easily take top billing. They're sweet and have a pretty good flavor. Hops are present and floral in character. It's lightly hopped, so their presence is barely noticeable. For this style, I'll take it. It's grainy and has a very earthy and floral taste. It's very straight and uncomplicated. For the style, it's definitely above average.

Mouthfeel/Drinkability: It's light bodied and carbonated pretty. Feels a bit watered down. It's easy drinking, but not very appetizing in the process. Drinkability is pretty good, especially for the style. It doesn't taste good enough to warrant more than a couple. But, it's doable.

Ringneck did a pretty decent job. For a macro style, it's alright. It suffers from some of the same flaws the macros do, but not to the same degree. It's worth a try. Gotta love the name too.

RN Big Woody Lager Poured from tap into a clean, clear glass at The Brew Kettle earlier tonight.

A Classic lager look with clear yellowish with minimal carbonation rising up. Brief white head dissipates to a single ring around my glass. Appropriate to the style but not much to set it apart from others in its style. Just fine looking.

S Not much smell at all apart from maybe some distant distant hops, barley.

T Basic lager only with slightly stronger hops, barley but the taste dissapears quickly (within 60 seconds). I think that it is appropriate to the style once again but not much elevates this from other lagers that I have had. It IS more tasty than "The Great American Lager" however.

M Moderate with slightly stronger tastes than other well known lagers

D Fair to good for me but others may rate drinkability much higher as they may really enjoy the lager style.
