Rich brown color, good smell with chocolate flavor. Little higher carbonation than I am use to tasting for a porter.

The One-Eyed Black Jack Porter is a nice easy drinking porter with enough oomph to make it quite good. The beer poured a opaque black with tan had that is not leaving much of a lace. The scent carries some hints of vanilla and cocoa. The taste is a nice balance between roast and bitterness to come off the pallet clean. The mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall.....very nice.

A - Dark black with a very slight tan head, minimal lacing
S - Toasted malts, some caramel.
T - Roasty malts, coffee, dry chocolate on the finish
M - Very slight carbonation
O - I agree with a previous rating, a bit watery but I like the taste

Undated bottle at 40 degrees into imperial pint
Marked aroma of toasted/roasted malt
Head large (6 cm), light brown, creamy with some rocks, slowly diminishing
Lacing OK, some partial rings and stalactites with small bubbles
Body dark brown/black, opaque
Flavor starts with a roasted malt bitterness and flavor, drifting into a light sweetness. No hint of alcohol, hops, or diacetyl.
Palate is medium to full, watery, with lively carbonation.

Overall, not a bad tasting porter, but seems a little too watery to me. Would like to try this on tap (they were out the last trip there).
