Pours a brilliant copper with a silky, frothy cream head that lingers.

Grapefruit, pineapple, and pine form the initial aroma, with resin and earthy hops adding complexity. There's a hint of onion accompanying toasted, bready malt.

Hops dominate the flavor profile, with tropical fruit quickly brewing overwhelmed by resin and onion, leading to a lingering, lightly bitter finish. Pineapple and grapefruit pith provide contrast to earthy hops.

Body is moderate, with carbonation a touch on the high side, accentuating the fruity hop character. Alcohol warmth is fairly subtle, but noticeable.

Excellent range of flavoring hops, with just enough bitterness to keep me wanting to drink more.

Poured into a tulip.

Appeared a perfectly clear, beautiful golden color with a 3 finger perfectly white head that left some nice lacing on my glass.

Smelled of citrus fruits including blood oranges, grapefruits, pineapple, and kiwi - mixed with some piney hops. Nice maltiness in the background.

Taste is phenomenal. First you are hit with some nice citrus sweetness, followed by a hop kick at the end.

Mouthfeel is good for the style.

Overall this is a very nice IPA. Yummmm.

poured 12oz bottle into a snifter.

A - pours a hazy dark orange color with 2.5 finger white foamy head. Nice collar and fat rings of lacing coat the glass.

S - Dank floral and citrus hop profile. Hints of pine and breadiness balance out the aroma.

T - A good amount of grapefruit starts it off, with some orange and floral hops. Finishes up with a bready malt and bitter pine. Very nice!

M - Medium body and carbonation with bitterness lingering on the palate.

O - Very nice, mostly grapefruit and bitter IPA that seems to have high IBUs. Thank you Harold for allowing me to try this out.

Appearance: Golden orange color. Half a finger of head on the pour and present on the edges of the glass while drinking. Heavy sticky lacing left behind at each level. Average amount of active carbonation.

Smell: Tame tropical fruits mix well with some medium bodied pine bitterness and a light caramel body on the front. Citrus picks up more on the body and continues to showcase a very breathable tropical fruit body. Pine grows more toward the back end and rides this brew out.

Taste: Citrus and tropical fruits jump the palate. Grapefruit and pine are potent on the body. The malt brings a very crisp flavor which really allows the bright hop tones to showcase themselves. Lingering bitterness on the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Crisp. Carbonation is very well done and works well with the malt and hop tones.

Overall: Another outstanding midwest, west coast style IPA. Citrus and fruit forward with a solid malt backbone which really allows the hop to shine. Highly recommend this one.

Delivered fresh in a growler from my Cleveland buddy Jason...thanks!

A - Crystal clear yellow with nice head that diminishes quickly leaving clumps off white bubbles and lacing on the glass.

S - citrus hoppy aroma. Not as strong as I would have liked but its about a week in the growler so I can accept that. What is there is spot on for an IPA and it invites you in.

T - Same as the nose but more so. Hop bite is mild but nice. Citrus on the front and easy smooth finish.

M - Perfect carbonation and creaminess mixes with the hops wonderfully. Coats without being cloying and finishes perfect.

O - Had high hopes for this beer and it really delivered. Compared with the heavy hitters in this category it holds itself up VERY well indeed. Maybe too mild on the hop aroma and slightly less so in the taste for some, but this is an IPA not a double. It might not be THE best IPA out there, but it certainly is in the conversation. If you can find it, drink it. Well done.

12oz bottle received via Growling at the Moon from bb8189. Thanks for the brew, Brian!

Poured into a CCB pub glass, forms a 1/4" off-white head over the clear golden amber brew. Head is gone in a flash, with slow-falling lace. Aroma is stanky grapefuity hops.

Taste begins with a sedate sweetness, marajuana-type funk in the middle, and citrus hops through the close. Mouthfeel is way smooth, and drinkability is great. Cheers to GATM!

A: Pours a nice honey color with good clarity. I managed a 1.5 finger pillowy white head. Nice lacing.

S: Wow, seriously? This is as tropical an IPA as I've smelled. Tons of citrus, namely orange, mango, and grapefruit. A good amount of pine encompasses the aroma providing much of the body with the pale malts. A true 5.0, this doesn't need any work at all.

T: A little less fruity than the nose. I get a solid dose of orange, pineapple and grapefruit up front riding the wave of pale malt. Good citrus flavor. The finish fades from the tropical fruits into a lingering pine bitterness.

M: Slick, medium mouthfeel. Really resinous on the finish with a very long linger.

O: I didn't want this to live up to the rage it's getting right now but it is definitely upper echelon. Fairly complex flavor profile for an IPA.
I can see this as Green Flash WCIPA meets Columbus IPA, certainly a winning combination. Hopheads need to seek this out.

On tap in a pint glass at Bodega on 11/3/10

Burnt amber with a slight haziness. 1/8th inch head that skimmed quickly. Some lace at the beginning. However, no head or lace by the end.

Super dense, oily hop aromas. Juicy citrus - lemon & a little grapefruit. Some piney notes. Nice, spicy notion as well. Smells like a Founder's Double Trouble or a ramped-up Bell's Two Hearted.

Tastes an awful lot like Double Trouble too, which is a good thing. Solid foray into pine, then some spicy Amarillo. Tight, indistinguishable citrus blends in. Malts are at a minimum.

Righteously resinous, oily & sticky. The hops dominate the feel, making the medium body seem heavier. Fairly dry finish with a moderate bitterness lingering.

Very tasty & highly drinkable for 7% abv. I spoke with Chris (the brewmaster) the night before & he told me the hop bill is Citra, Simcoe, Centennial & Amarillo; a choice lineup, in my opinion.

I'll be looking for this once bottled.

I really can't fault this beer for nearly anything. Delicate floral, juicy, hops with a hint of pungency on the finish. Balanced towards the bitterness. Very soft pleasant malts and smooth as. It's a pale yellow, with a white head. Really nice. Perhaps light for the winter, but probably the only thing a person could want in the heat.

Excellent West Coast style IPA here. Light gold body with a small white head, recedes to a nice thick ring. Good lacing on the glass as well.
Smells hoppy! Citrus and grassy hop smell, defined malt presence as well.
Taste follows closely, biscuty malt presence, some piney hops as well.
Nice semi-sticky mouthfeel, bitter finish but the malts help to balance.

Another excellent IPA coming from Ohio!
