Not sure what else to say other than this was the first experience this Californian has had with Ohio.

I was sent Hop JuJu, Head Hunter, Chillwave, and The White Rajah.

Rajah = Grapefruit, White Grapes, Tropical Fruit, & a nice and solid pine component that had a perfect blend of malt that kept this Hop Forward.

The best beer in the bunch. I've said it, & I'll say it again. Ohio impressed me more than Vermont. I'm assuming this beer was 2 months in the bottle. If uber fresh, my score would have been higher and near a perfect 5. I'll re-review when that happens.

Pours orange amber with gold highlights, slight haze. Serene, glowing and golden. Creamy head of off white foam that leaves lace. Hop bomb nose. With a citrus and with fruitiness, a good floral perfume. The nose is like a fountain of hops that is shooting into the air spectacularly. A bit of honey sweetness on the nose. Grapefruit, citrus orange and mango. It surprised me with a bit of light sweet caramel on the palate first and then that bushel of fruit. A dry cracker malt and fruit that was both sweet and tart. Lovely light mouthfeel that stayed west coast style light even though there was some malt flavor on the palate. This one drinks juicy and then there's a bitter. A staunch firm and lasting bitter that reminds you as it lingers of all that sweet and delectable fruit.

Wonderful!

On tap in a pint glass at Bodega on 11/3/10

Burnt amber with a slight haziness. 1/8th inch head that skimmed quickly. Some lace at the beginning. However, no head or lace by the end.

Super dense, oily hop aromas. Juicy citrus - lemon & a little grapefruit. Some piney notes. Nice, spicy notion as well. Smells like a Founder's Double Trouble or a ramped-up Bell's Two Hearted.

Tastes an awful lot like Double Trouble too, which is a good thing. Solid foray into pine, then some spicy Amarillo. Tight, indistinguishable citrus blends in. Malts are at a minimum.

Righteously resinous, oily & sticky. The hops dominate the feel, making the medium body seem heavier. Fairly dry finish with a moderate bitterness lingering.

Very tasty & highly drinkable for 7% abv. I spoke with Chris (the brewmaster) the night before & he told me the hop bill is Citra, Simcoe, Centennial & Amarillo; a choice lineup, in my opinion.

I'll be looking for this once bottled.

A - Clear copper body, white head has some retention and some lacing.

S - Solid tropical fruit nose right from when I crack the cap off the bottle with mango and pineapple.

T - Smell doesn't really translate to taste. Grapefruit flesh, with caramel and honey-like sweetness. Touch of butter. Finishes with an ambiguous, mostly flavorless bitterness with some pine.

M - Medium body and carbonation. Finishes dry. Prickly bitterness across the palate.

O - Expected a lot more out of this one. Taste just didn't pull through enough and had butter off-flavor. I'll pass on it next time I'm in town. Maybe they should bottle date?

Pours a slightly hazy oranigsh color with a frothy three finger head which reseds to a tight skin and gives way to good lacing up and down the glass. The aroma is fantastic big earthy and piney hop smell balanced out with a nice citrus smell. The flavor is like the nose, a nice beefy hop character of earth and pine the citrus brings a great balance to the flavor. The mouthfeel is well carbonated. The drinkability is very high and easy drink with a great nose and a complex tatse that keeps you wanting more.

It's pretty good but not on the same level as the Vermont guys.

Gonna start by saying I f'n love this beer. It is easily one of my new favorites now! Too bad I can't get it locally.

Appearance - Pours a beautiful clear orange with visible carbonation. An inch head that is off-white and looks like a soft pillow that I wouldn't mind sleeping on! Spotty lacing as you drink it too.

Aroma and taste - A beautiful mixture of citrus fruits (i.e., grapefruit) and floral, slight resin hop flavors.

Mouthfeel - Easy drinking, smooth, perfect amount of bitterness, medium body. I can't put my glass down!

Overall - One word, AWESOME!

A - Clear golden orange beer, large head reduces slowly to thick white cap that laces as it goes down.

S - Strong smell of mango and passionfruit, grapefruit, overripe peaches with a subtle wild hop elements of onion and sweat, a hint of dank grassiness.

T - Bright grapefruit and passionfruit flavors, followed by a grapefruit pith hit that survives through the close.

M - Good carbonation, but heavy bitterness and resin chewiness that builds.

O - Delivers on the promise of a strong, West Coast style IPA. Big flavors and big bitterness, it can blow your palate out, but it is a wonderful ride.

This beer was served in an Imperial Pint glass.

A- The body of the beer is a bright golden coloration. The head of the beer is a thick white coloration. Nice head retention that stands up to the mustache test. Thick rings of foam mark the beers passage from my glass.

S- Nice pungent grapefruit, citrus, pine resin and perhaps a bit of sweet pineapple and mango. Very well done!

T- The flavor of the beer is mildly sweetened grapefruit, oily pine, citrus zest and just a flash of sweet caramel. The hops are definately the star of this beer.

M- The body of the beer nears medium. The carbonation is on the lower side but works really well. The hops have a bit of a sticky resinous character and really hang around.

O- This is a very good IPA. I will be buying more of this beer. My normal routine hop fix is SN Torpedo. If this beer is going to be year round available it will have torpedoed Torpedo.
