Hazy amber colour. Nice foamy white head. Half-decent head retention.
Very sweet malt with quite a fruitiness. Almost sweaty like in the house Belgian yeast these guys like to use. Quite interesting but also out of place.
The flavour continues the interesting fruity hop profile. Lots of sweaty NZ hops along with a sweet malt profile that suggests Belgian flavour rather than Imperial Pilsner.
Medium body with moderately-high carbonation.
I'm not entirely convinced this works. They have tried hard to deliver something original but it falls back to a house flavour that isn't all that pleasant. I wish this were less sweet and used some hops that are a bit cleaner and fresher.

330ml bottle 5.0%.
Poured a slightly cloudy medium yellow with quite a nice pillowy head.
Palate has some nIce tropical fruit, well balanced with the malt. Finish is quite short although bitterness lingers a little.
Mouth is quite nice - quite creamy.
I'm not a fan of the style so this didn't blow me away - but recommended if you're a lager swiller.

apparently this beer is retired, but I bought this 2 weeks back, so it obviously has been brewed more than once. it's good and it's the best larger I had all summer.

Scrim bottle some nice bitterness up front that gives way to soft sweet malt backbone. Hop flavour is tropical, passionfruit, grapefruit. Very enjoyable.

330ml bottle. 5.9% abv. Pours an opaque gold colour with an enormous, off-white, loosely packed head which settled to a long lasting 2mm layer and left a nice ring of lace. Aroma of tropical fruit, grapefruit and moscato. Mild sweetness and mild bitterness. Light to medium bodied, smooth texture that is a little on the thin side, slight fizz on the tongue and a lingering medicinal bitterness in the finish. 6.

I had a 330ml bottle. Note: the ABV on my bottle is 5.9% so this must have been changed since the initial beer was entered.
Appearance: good foamy white head at least 2cm. Good lacing remains.
Aroma: standout. Lots of citrus and passionfruit. Can only describe as excellent.
Taste: very impressive flavour. Great balance of sweetness from malts and bitter finish, a really good finish. High carbonation level in this beer.
Overall: a really good beer bursting with flavour and aroma and a great find. Even though it's a lager it is much like a really good pale ale and close to IPA at that. This is a must if you like a good hoppy bitter drinking beer that is not over the top but has great aroma up front. A ripper. I'll be back to this one!

330ml bottle. 5.9% ABV, 34IBUs.
a - pours a cloudy amber, decent fizzy head
s - potent tropical fruits (passionfruit, guava roll, lychee) over light roasted malts and lemon
t - quite sweet hops with big yeasty notes. Towards the end there is a good mix of tropical (passionfruit, papaya) and sour citrus (lemon) fruits, very refreshing. Bitterness is present but not overpowering. After a few sips, I can pick up the faintest hint of chocolate and roasted malts.
f - medium bodied, dry texture, moderate to high carbonation.
o - a refreshing, tasty summer beer. The mix of fruits is pleasant and interesting. More like a pale ale than a lager - the hops are noticeable but not upfront like an IPA or an APA.

Those dastardly dogs at Lunar Canine have brewed up another mad-scientist beer, Double Lager? Double pants I say! Although this is only the second brew I’ve tried of theirs (the first being the insane 15.4% ABV American Double Imperial Stout “Jumping The Shark”) I already like the cut of their jib, and that is one crazy tasting jib!
Poured from a 330ml bottle into a Duvel tulip.
A: A nice cloudy amber body with a creamy off-white half centimetre head on top. Never had a “Double Lager” before, unless Peroni’s Gran Riserva Doppio Malto is one? Double Malt = Double Lager? Eh, who cares. 7/10.
S: Distinctly vinous, white wine grape on the nose, with a hint of malt grains, candi sugar, kiwi fruit and cut grass. This has to be one of the best Lagers my olfactory senses have had the good fortune to bewhiff! (time to ring OED with another word suggestion, they often tell me to keep em coming, or to stop calling them, one of those two). 10/10.
T: Distinctly not as expected! There is a big sugar hit upfront, grainy mid palate and it finishes with a cut grass/herbal hop bitterness. I’m missing that white grape/kiwi combo, i.e. the aroma is a lot more complex than the taste, not great but still interesting (despite it having less dimension here). 6/10.
M: Medium bodied, a little oily, with a light carbonation. 5/10.
D: There is a grating medicinal herb bitterness in the aftertaste that becomes more and more evident as the glass drains... it’s not an admirable quality in a beer. Disappointing because Moon Dog have some crazy ideas about brewing that I would like to endorse with a crazy big score. However the execution... indeed. 5/10.
Food match: A tongue scraper to get that aforementioned grating medicinal herb bitterness out of your mouth...or a plate of chilli fries.
