Pale orange/peach color and cloudy. Head with medium retention. The aroma is not pronounced but pleasant. Mango, and citrous notes, not very sweet. The taste is similar with a dry aftertaste finishing with an earthy note. Not persistent. The body is medium to light. Overall an ok beer.

A: Very hazy, rich peachy orange, seafoam head and little visible rising carbonation
S: German hops crossed with an IPA, but leaning on a belgian tripel.
T: Quite decent. Honey, pinefruitiness, initially bitter, but doesn't have a deep bitterness.
M: light and smooth
O: A very easy IPA, and very welcome to Germany. I think I bought this at the Biocompany, which is fantastic if it's that easily available.

purchased in Dresden's healthy super market. very readily available and accessible across this super-market chain.
Look: poured murky golden
Smell: orange and pine tree
Taste: orange/tangerine flavor juice upfront. same aroma + some pine tree fills the nostril. very NW'iy. there's some caramel sweetness that balances pretty well with the hop-forward flavor.
Feel: some residual caramel sweetness, but not too offensive. i prefer a bit drier, but that's my palate.
Overall: it's a solid pale ale. this may be becoming my go-to APA if I stay in Germany and can't find Rastharren.

It's like an American IPA yet the mouthfeel and look of the beer is like a German Weissbier (Hefeweizen). No the aroma I got pine. The taste was well balanced, a little hoppy and surprisingly full bodied mouthfeel. I recommend it yet it is quite far away from an IPA.

Bought this without any expectations - must admit that I am a die-hard fan of West Coast IPAs and of American IPAs in general and I prefer the ones made in the USA from Made in USA ingredients.
However sometimes there are exceptions to the rule. Regardless of nationality, sometimes foreign makers can also produce an extremely good American IPA as well! This time the German Riedenberger brewery did the job with Dolden Sud IPA.
Although its label and the story on the back reminds me of the original English IPAs, it clearly follows the tradition and trademark of the American ones: an in-your-face amazing dry hopped smell, for sure thanks to the great amount of Citra used for this beer. I believe a Pale Ale malt must have been used that gives the beer a lighter body with a quite dry but bitter aftertaste. Overall, this beer resembles me of an East Coast IPA, more exactly of the legendary Evil Twin's outstanding Falco - it is almost as if this beer has been a carbon copy of it.
In the end, to me today it matters not how original this beer tastes like - what matters to me more is that this IPA is made very well and with a taste that I like very much. Would gladly drink it again!

Picked this up at a great beer shop in Darmstadt, Germany, Maruhn Welt der Getränke. Cloudy amber-orange pour with a two finger foamy white head with great retention and nice lacing. The nose is somewhat subtle with a decent balance between the sweet caramel malt and the citrusy hops. Hints of tangerine, apricot, and caramel. The taste follows suit with a solid earthy, caramel malt base along with hints of apricot, tangerine, caramel, toffee, orange zest, and a nice herbal hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation and a nice tangy, bitter finish. Overall, this is a solid interpretation and a marked improvement over recent German IPA's I've had.

This is overall a decent IPA with grapefruit aromas, but it is quite unpleasantly sweet and not bitter enough. The hopping is good but the recipe should adjusted in ny opinion

Six month before sell-by date.

This is a crazy-aromatic beer - as it goes into the glass, it's hugely perfumed. Nice big fine-grained head which settles fairly quickly. Earthy-orange-yellow, slightly cloudy. All the perfume is gone now, there's something I cant pin down - almost phenolic but not cloves, something more like mangoes -yes, it's definitely mangoes, with that weird am-I-sweet-or-am-I something-else mango smell.

First drink is lovely: really smooth, very fine and smooth carbonation, yet lively enough to keep it tingling on the tongue. There's lots of hops, fruitiness too, only on the swallow do I get the explicitly mango taste again. It's not a complex beer, it's drinkable, and well worth trying (especially if you're a fan of mangoes!). A mix of something like a fruity weizen that tastes of mangoes instead of banannas and cloves, with loads of bitter hops added.
I'm slowly warming to it, but have to admit it's just not my cup of tea, I bumped up my original points because I did find it a very interesting beer.

Burps really strong mango too! Too much mango for me.
(disclaimer: I'm not a huge fan of mangoes)

What a surprise! A german IPA!
It has a hazy ocher color and a nice, dense and creamy whitey foam (it's been time I don't find a foam creamy as this one)
Smell is basically hops and honey (eucalipt honey!).
Taste gets way maltier and a bit "bloating". Difficult to distinguish details but there are hoppy, honey and fruity notes too.
Feel is good. Body, carbonation and bitterness are at high level and alcohol balances. The creamy foam makes it even better.

Classified by the brewer as a Bavarian IPA. 33cl bottle. 6.5% abv, 55 ibus, 19.11.2013, batch 2 indicated on the label. Color is burnt orange with a semi-hazy clarity and a consistent, soapy skim of a head with clusters of bubbles around the shoulders. Nose is a pleasant blend of citrus, earthy hops and light fruits (perhaps apricot) with a touch of rind. Taste is a bit dull and watery - characteristics in the nose are merely a shadow. Mouthfeel is light in body with a kiss of acidity, an easy carbonation and a smooth, slightly cream texture. Overall, pretty dull for an IPA but it's a Bavarian IPA (whatever that means). That said, a good transitional beer for a BMC/Pils drinker.
