This review is relative to the town in which Rum Runner's is situated. Grimshaw is a *tiny* town in Northern Alberta and therefore one wouldn't expect much from the local beer store. Rum Runner's has definitely exceeded my expectations.

The atmosphere is oriented mostly to the typical Molson/Bud drinker and there is a large selection of hard stuff as well. In the back though is a magical shelf unit that contains a surprising selection of excellent craft brews. Péché Mortel is the main one that I've just gone nuts over. 3-6 packs so far (some for drinking, some for cellaring). They carried fresh Sam Adams Noble Pils in the spring and also have Duvel, Chimay as well as a few other European gems.

Rum Runner's has a great, themed 6-pack of the month club going where a particular geographic area or celebration is highlighted with 6 different beers. Great idea and a gateway for the adventurous uninitiated.

The service is good as well! The main beer guy (don't know his name) is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about talking craft beer. He brings in the wacky stuff that you'd never expect to find in small town, Northern Alberta.

Overall, this is actually a great store for such an obscure, small town. Great to know the spirit of craft beer exists in the smaller towns as well.

Keep up the beer advocacy, Rum Runner's! I'll be back regularly.
