Midnight Rush is the first release of our barrel aged project series. This imperial breakfast stout features a blend of stouts aged for different amounts of time in different types of bourbon barrels. Look for heavy notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and mellow notes of vanilla, oak, and bourbon whiskey. Enjoy now or cellar for later.
Blend Ratio consists of:
45% Rush Hour Breakfast Stout aged for 9 months in Breckenridge Bourbon Barrels
15 % Rush Hour Breakfast Stout aged for 3 months in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels
15 % Midnight Lightning Imperial Stout aged for 10 months in Breckenridge Bourbon Barrels
25 % Midnight Lightning Imperial Stout aged for 10 months in Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrels
After blend is done we infuse another 1 pounds per barrel of fresh Colombiano coffee into the blend.

Bottle.
A: Coffee upfront, with a deep grain roast that is dark chocolate and coffee like, slight sweetness with a light bourbon note.
A: Jet black, opaque, with a small tan, dense head. There is adequate retention, no lacing in the glass.
T: Moderately strong coffee upfront, well supported by the grain roast, which is dark chocolate and coffee like. There is a moderate bourbon note with a light roast bitterness on the finish.
M: Full bodied with moderate carbonation. The beer is quite smooth (from the oats) and hides its alcoholic strength well.
O: Delicious; the beer has a great coffee, deep roast from the grains that compliment well. The bourbon barrel adds extra depth and complexity.
9/10/17 Update: still drinking quite smooth the bourbon character has smoothed out a bit with lots of depth and complexity!
