Drink it ‘straight’ to appreciate the light tartness…Or repeat these words “Ich bin ein Berliner” and add a bit of elderflower, blackberry, or plum syrup just as they do along Kurfürstendamm.

Ku'damm pours a hazy, pinkish color, with a very small, but long-lasting head. The aroma is strong, tart, lime. The flavor has a nice tart flavor, lime notes, and a sweet raspberry. It has a good, crisp feel. Overall, it is refreshing and drinkable, with big fruit flavors.

I was told this was served with sugar plum syrup. Hazy pink-orange. Nose is fruity, I might have called it tropical (papaya ish) and orange, there's subtle cinnamon and vanilla. The flavor is kind of cotton candy like, emphasis on the candy. Not so much cinnamon. Not terribly tart. Light, fluffy mouthfeel.

On tap @ DSK in Brooklyn. Home of a couple BA after-parties when Beer for Beasts was a thing.
Liter mug. Pale straw, not quite clear, fizzy, lingering head, sans syrup.
Smell is seltzer, wheat, faint fruit rind.
Tastes of tart lemon, seltzer, mineral water, moderate acidity, faint wheat, no salt, a little more then thin, foamy & very carbonated, clean, replenishing goodness.
Very easy. Just a little pricey.

well made and super easy drinking berliner. i like it for a number of reasons. one, i can still taste the wheat in it. american brewers are going the way of soda with these, where its not at all about the grain but entirely about the added flavor, hops or fruit or whatever, but this one is well grounded with a nice pale wheat base. secondly, its not too sour, so many now are all about cranking the tartness, and while this does have a little pucker to it, its clean and bright, and not so acidic that i couldnt make a day of drinking these. i like this on its own, but they have some really cool syrups in here, a fruity basil one was really unique, and the beer seems perfectly suited to harbor these flavors while also still maintaining its own identity. the traditional german styles are what these guys do best, and this is another one of theirs thats a lot better than what most american craft producers are doing with the style. summery and easy, but with a lot of character too. nice berliner overall!
