Our flagship lager, pronounced ‘zv-ick-el’, is an unfiltered, unpasteurized, German classic that finishes as a smooth-drinking, vitamin rich (from the yeast), naturally cloudy bier.

Malts: Two-Row & Pilsner
Hops: Hallertau

Heavy 16 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy and hazy light golden color. I love how it is unfiltered and unpasteurized. Perfect head and nice flavor of yeast, bread and grain. Best American Zwickel I have had.

Poured a cloudy, orange-gold body with decent head and lace. Slightly skunky and grassy hop aroma. Smooth beer, light bodied (straddles medium body), has a decent grassy hoppiness and sweetness that balances with a slight smokey dryness and plush tropical fruit-like finish.

Half pour at the Bierhall. One of my favorite styles in Germany and this is up there with the best. Really delicious unfiltered lager with all the great qualities of a German example. Gorgeous appearance, funky nose, smooth and bready flavor, with a slightly barny feel and finish. Every sip gets better. This is a truly great beer, better than its average on this site but most people don’t know good lager.

Had this on tap. Pretty straightforward, easy-tasting crisp German pilsner. Pours hazy gold color with thin head. Good lacing. Low bitterness and slightly elevated carbonation. Cereal and malt overtones with a hint of citrus (mostly lemon) dominate the flavour. Not much to the aroma. Mostly in the malt domain. Very good overall.

Golden-yellow, cloudy, crisp, Lager-ish beer. Yeasty with a bit of Pilsner malt and slight hops.

Murky yet clears up yellowy gold body, big white head and tons of lacing. Grassy and floral with nutty hops, pale malt with some honeycomb. Nose is surprisingly boring, just malt and grass, huh. Feel is smooth malt and light to start then big hop and botanical yeast texture hits, paler then onward. Nice spring lager for the first days on the porch. The wife liked it on tap

Delicious Zwickelbier. Slightly cloudy golden color...

A big bready maltiness....tight clean lemony, herbal, grassy hop impression which makes for a highly drinkable, smooth lager. Leans sweet but the hop finish perfectly keeps it balanced. Great beer. I'd drink this all the time if it was available by me.

Zwickel

Urban Chestnut Brewing Company

Kellerbier / Zwickelbier

A very light malty body, herbal and sparkling water flavor first. Old world herbal hop with a subtle spice and kick. Very clean vibe with an earthy-tang bite at the end in the taste. Definitely a bit thin, and the malt needs just a slight bump.

Classic and delicious German lager. Easily the smoothest beer I've ever drank. As someone who's not a fan of basic lager I must say this one makes want to try more lagers.

16oz canned 8-2-22, opened 11-19-22.
2 finger white head with good retention, sits solid at 1/4". Slightly hazy and yellow gold body. Thick with lace. Rich grainy malt and spicy, grassy hop aroma. Rustic, grainy and full of flavor. Full body and low-medium carbonation. Long finish with a touch of sweetness. Very Good.
