Dark brown in color with a quarter inch of beige resting on top. Brussels lacing and brilliant clarity are observed. Aroma of light malt and marzipan. The flavor is plenty of light malt and marzipan. The mouth is light and smooth.

Pours an effervescent caramel/orange with 3+ fingers of fluffy, cream colored head. Great lacing & head retention, handsome beer!

S: Woody hops, a little caramel

T: Biscuitty malt, dryness, a little woody & grassy hops & dryness up front. Much dryness as this warms, leafy & woody hops, plus bready sweetness as this warms. Finishes dry, grassy with faint pear & astringent notes

MF: Light/medium bodied, firm carbonation , okay balance

Drinks okay, was hoping for better, passable, but too dry

Pours a dark nutty chestnut brown, sharp clarity in the light. Long lasting surface foam, unbroken for the duration of the glass. Delicate lace all around the edges of the glass.

Aroma is mild, light toasted malt, somewhat nutty, grain husks.
Taste is similar, nutty and malt forward, though with an astringent twang.
Fairly substantial in body, the light astringency is odd, mild dry bitterness.
Overall it's pretty good, though not my favorite from Urban Chestnut.

Enjoyed on-tap @ Urban Chestnut Brewing Company in St. Louis, MO for $4. Tapped from the Blue/Orange Wooden Tap Handle into a Becher Glass.

Aroma- Very subtle, grainy aroma. Has some sweet malts behind it and very clean. Easy on the nose and actually like this!

Appearance- Received with a 1 finger head that dies down quickly. Has a dark copper/light brown body that is very clear. Leaves almost no lacing.

Flavor- Has a smooth, malty body that has a nice light brown ale-like taste. A biscuity flavor is involved and has the finish of a lager. Light bitterness and a light noble hop flavor.

Mouthfeel- Light- Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, but doesn't have much of a finish. Must be the style...

Overall Impression- Very nice and refreshing! I've never had this style and without being able to compare it, I would say it has my vote for a top 3 win in a brew contest. I enjoyed thoroughly and you would do the same! So far, you have to come into UCBC to be able to enjoy this brew.

People are missing the boat on this beer. It is a well-done German-style brew. It's malty and tasty with a light bitterness. An easy drinking brew for the hot summer months.
