16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sticky, thin rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of molasses, chocolate, toffee and rich caramel. Sweet chocolate, toffee, caramel and a mild coffee bitterness.

Draft. Dense black with tan head. Strikes me as smelling like baked beans at first, but after first sip it's not standing out like that as much. I'm not sure exactly why it gives me that impression, there's a very dark, kind of burnt or smokey roast. Quite woody although I don't think this one's barrel aged. A little peppercorn, earth. The smokey roast continues in the flavor, but some cocoa replaces he baked beans. Mouthfeel is full but not too heavy. Balanced between sweetness and bitterness, doesn't come across as a lot either way. I get a touch of fig in the finish, which is long.

Pours an effervescent Mahogany with 2 fingers of mocha colored head. Some lacing & head retention
S: Cocoa, vanilla & a little raisin
T: Roastyness & cocoa, plenty of dryness up front. Dryness, roastyness, cocoa, iron & a little bit of fig as this warms. Finishes dry & roasty with cocoa notes & a little woody hop bite
MF: Medium body, low carbonation, body thinned a touch once warm

500mL bottle, date stamped 2019-11-08. Black bodied stout with a thick, foamy brown head. Chocolate and roasted grain aroma. Nice warming flavors of chocolatey fudge, caramely grain, roasted barley, and peppery earthy hops. Full body, creamy and smooth with ample carbonation; cocoa lingers on the finish. Good RIS.

From a tall European brown glass bottle, this brew is a seriously black, dark beer with a thick tan head. Th aroma is roasty, with some underlying grain and malt. It hides its ABV very well. Not boozy, but clean and approachable. Also, though, it isn’t as thick as expected. Direct and abrupt.

Pouts black in color without much of a head. Nose is bourbon spices, vanilla, charred oak. Taste is chocolate malt up front that segues to some spicy bourbon - bourbon is very pronounced and hot...this one can use some more time. Vanilla lingers on the finish Mouth is full bodied and smooth. Decent barrel ages beer. A little rough around the edges and could use some mellowing.

Pours a black color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of alcohol, sweet malt, slight roasted malt, hint of hop, hint of spice, and a hint of liquor. Fits the style of a Russian Imperial Stout. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of alcohol, spice (juniper?), sweet malt, slight roasted malt, and a hint of liquor. Overall, lacking in appearance, but good aroma, body, and blend.

Enjoyed on-tap @ Urban Chestnut Brewing Company (UCBC) in St. Louis, MO for $5.50. Tapped from the Wooden UCBC Tap Handle w/o any name on it into a 12oz Snifter Glass.
Aroma- Very nice roastiness, huge grains, and light coffee aromas hit home. Light burnt qualities and malts are big time here too. Not much booziness or alcohol around and not sure I miss this or not.
Appearance- Received with a dark brown, 1 finger head that has below average retention time. Has a deep brown colored body, very opaque and leaves thick, dark lacing afterwards. Spider webbed lacing to be exact.
Flavor- Nice rich flavors hit the mouth from the initial taste. Deep, roasted grains, rich notes of coffee, and cocoa/unsweetened Hershey's chocolate chips find their way into this category. Has a medium hop bitterness at the finish and very sweet.
Mouthfeel- Medium-Full Bodied, Light-Medium Carbonation, A tad watery for the style, but then leaves good coffee on the palate. Sometimes to add flavor, you have to give up some qualities (body, ingredient, etc...)?
Overall Impression- On the low ABV/alcohol side of a Russian Imperial Stout, this one still was very good! I enjoyed this greatly as this is their strongest brew I've had yet! Would definitely promote this one but more like a Coffee Stout in my opinion. Get a growler of this and share it with friends during Christmas time!
