Notes: Nosferatu (Bird of Death) aka Count Orlok was THE German Count Dracula. He was a blood-sucking vampire…but being German he must’ve enjoyed beer too, right? We believe it is so and thus have created a Black Pumpkin Wheat Ale in his honor…a “bier noir” if you will.

Black in color with a beautiful thick off white head with a lot of lacing that lasts forever. Smells of cloves, bourbon, cinnamon, Flavors of pumpkin, banana & cracker, with no hop notes and minimal sweetness. The mouthfeel is not thick or thin, just somewhere in between. This is a very subtle and balanced beer as nothing really stands out but maybe that is it's genius. All of the different elements meld together. I like this beer. Really pairs well with desert!

500 ml bottle. Pours a deep mahogany color with a decent head and bits of lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, spice and vanilla. Taste of wheat, pumpkin, spices and vanilla. Mild bitterness and a slightly sweet finish.

500ml bottle. 8/8/17 bottle date. Appearance: Deep brown and murky, with a hint of ruby red and a medium light khaki foam head with some lacing. Aroma: Toasted maltiness, a touch of pumpkin spicing and some strong pear and clove esters. Taste: Moderate malt sweetness, mostly bread crusts and a touch of nuttiness, light pumpkin spicing of allspice and nutmeg, and a bit of pear from the yeast. Bitterness on the strong side for a wheat ale Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy bodied with a touch of creaminess and moderate carbonation Finish: Allspice, clove, and pear linger long after the swallow, with a touch of toasted bread crust in the background. Overall: Would have to describe this as a pumpkin dunkelweizen, and a complex one at that. The pumpkin spicing seems to both complement and contrast the fruity and clove esters from the weizen yeast, creating an overall really nice beer for both the fall and winter season.

Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Very dark for a pumpkin ale. Smells of pumpkin. Taste is pumpkin spice, with a malty aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium. Overall, good fall seasonal.

Aroma is pumpkin, spices, malts and medium nuttiness. The flavor is pumpkin, spices, malts, a hint of chocolate/coffee and a mix of tart and mild acidity in the finish.

The bottle is the coolest part about the beer for sure. Definitely a new fall favorite for me too. Smells like any other pumpkin ale, darker color (obviously), and tastes like the dark lord himself. Just kidding that's gross

This is a very interesting take on the pumpkin beer. Its darker than any other pumpkin beer I've had, pouring out a very dark brown, almost black. The scent hits you with pumpkin pie spices and plenty of nutmeg and some cloves in there. Its got a good amount of carbonation as well, but did not affect my personal tastes. The flavor is what gets me, in a bad way sometimes, with pumpkin beers. This one tasted rather great, finishing with nearly a pumpkin pie creaminess to it. Some pumpkin beers tend to have an overwhelming anise flavor that I'm not fond of, yet this one avoided that. If you want something different from your standard pumpkin beer, this one is a great choice.

This is a richly deep brown beer, with a fizzy tan head. The brew is heavily carbonated, making the head is undulate with new bubbles. The aroma has a serious clove and nutmeg smell, not bad, but on the edge of being overdone. There is, however, a roasted and wheat-twang underneath the spice. The taste is great...a slightly sweet brew with lots of complex flavor (wheat, malt, roasted notes, earth, spice). Full in body, yet the carbonation keeps it alive. Nice.

Pours ebony with thumb of cream colored head. Above average head retention & lacing

S: Cloves & nutmeg, cinnamon

T: Follows the nose, a little dryness, a little squashyness up front. Dryness, faint metallic taste, not too bad, I get this a lot in this style beer, a little green apple taffy as well as this warms, some Band-Aid as well, a little cinnamon leaks in as well, more squashyness. Finishes dry with some pumpkin pie spice, some pear, some juicy fruit

MF: Light/medium body, a little too much carbonation for my liking

This beer isn't quite what I expected, but better than I expected, different can be good, but not one I would buy again..

Nice beer, but not enough depth. There's a subtle roast aroma, but it's too light. The wheat malt flavor is a bit dull and the pumpkin is fine, but nothing new or interesting. Easy drinking and smooth.

Appearance: Arrives with a massive head capping the mahogany colored liquid; a veritable curtain of lacing hangs around

Smell: Toasted wheat bread, pumpkin and pie spices

Taste: The toasted wheat, pumpkin and pie spice flavors are front and center from the start; the spice tones build a bit through the middle and the finish brings a hint of ginger snap

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; somewhat creamy

Overall: An interesting twist on the pumpkin beer style; the real pumpkin flavor shines through and is well-balanced with the toasty malt and pie spice elements
