Smooth and silky, Porter pours a dark mahogany color with a firm cap of tan foam. It has bittersweet chocolate and coffee notes and a depth that bigger beers aspire to.

Exceptional porter. Most notable is the chocolatey quality to it. Sweet and hearty but still balanced, still a beer. ABV seems lower. Best dark beer of the season so far.

This one from my good friend and Phytogen Cotton Seed agronomist Russell Nuti. Thanks buddy!

Pours a clear deep brown with garnet highlights, producing 2+ fingers of mocha, somewhat lasting, foamy head that leaves a beautiful coating of lace. Aroma is toasted pumpernickel, rich dark fruits, dark chocolate, roasted nuts and toffee with hints of licorice and thin coffee. Taste is roasted and bold being semisweet dark chocolate, rich dark bread, raisins, overripe plums, roasted nuts, char, toffee and a hint of smoke. Finishes sweet, bready, chocolatey and fruity with a kick of spice. Aftertaste is a diminished version of the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation, smooth and a little dry. An excellent American Porter and good example of the style.

On tap at Dulles International Airport in Sterling, VA.

This one pours a pretty dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like coffee, roasted malt, and a little bit of chocolate.

This is maybe slightly thin, but still overall pretty tasty and ticks most of the boxes you want for porters. It’s very roasty, with a coffee-like flavor, and touch of chocolate sweetness. There’s not much sweetness here, in a good way.

This is slightly creamy, but a little watery, with a good drinkability.

This isn’t going to completely wow anybody, but it’s a solid choice if you ever see it.

Has a great nutty, chocolate flavor on the palate with a backup of coffee tone to balance out the taste. Excellent brew!!

Poured from the tap at DCA airport in DC. The beer is a dark almost opaque brown colour with a frothy light tan head. Aroma is roasty with coffee notes and a hint of smoke. Taste is coffee bean, burnt sugar, light smokiness. Smooth. This is really satisfying.

A nice smooth porter with a strong malty flavor age dark look without much head. Not so much a beer for special occasions, but a solid everyday beer.

From the bottle, it pours a clear dark brown color wit a nice light brown head that leaves lacing. The nose gets a dose of roasted malts - yum! The mouth gets a creamy roasted and burnt malt that lingers a bit.

Solidly brown, but not close to black, like many porters, it also came with a nice mocha head. Most of that has subsided, with a lingering residue. All this took place in a clear pint glass after being poured from a tap. The expected roasted malt aroma is less pronounced than many in this style. No worries, there's plenty there to taste, along with a little hoppiness delivered within a velvety medium. There's some pretty glass lacing, too. The alcohol can't be tasted, but it seems to contribute with the hops, to a little, "heat" being part of the finish. This one is very tasty, very smooth and a very good American porter.
