Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a conical pint; bottled 02/16/2017.
A: Pours a hazy, orange-amber color with a one inch, egg-shell white head showing strong retention and lacing. Yeast sediment evident in the glass
S: Aromas of citrus and toast predominate. Maybe a mango note.
T: Flavors follow the nose, with citrus, mango/papaya, and caramel. Hoppy bitterness kicks in slowly with pleasant pine/eucalyptus aftertaste.
M: Medium bodied with strong carbonation.
O: Really a nicely constructed, complex Double IPA. Enjoy

On tap. Pours an orange-hued copper, with a thin head of bright-white foam. This retains well, leaving back some frothy lacing that sticks to the sides of the glass. The aroma smells floral and piney, with a touch of medicinal character. Grapefruit is standing out, along with some sweeter notes of fruit and malt. The alcohol gives this a certain amount of heaviness in the nose. The taste has a zesty bitterness with resins mixed in. Softer notes of herbs, tropical fruit, bread and a touch of sweeter caramel malts help balance this. This ends dry, bitter and resinous on the finish. The feel is medium with a sharp creaminess that spreads out. The higher alcohol gives this a boozy edge. This was certainly drinkable “enough” for a bigger DIPA but the pronounced alcohol presence does hold this down with unnecessary booze and sweetness that I’m afraid wrecks the party a bit.

Had it at the brewery. It had a orange copper color with 2 finger head.

Smell: Grapefruit and Citrus all the way. Big hop bomb

Taste: More grapefruit and more hops. Just enough malt but the hops steal the show.

Superb beer and one of the best IPA's that I have had. It is almost like bear republic racer 5 but with more hop character since it is a DIPA.

5/24....pours dirty copper, very high white foam. Punchy grapefruit nose. Thick malty taste, bitter pine pokes through. Boozy. Solid DIPA, good flavors.

Had this one on tap at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass this beer has a nice amber to orange color. Head was medium and stayed for a little bit.
Smell was of citrus fruit as well as a little malt. Some minor grassy notes as well.
Taste is pretty citrus heavy from beginning to end. Some pine near the end. Grapefruit is what I would say dominates with small malt background
Mouth feel is pretty standard. Not too carbonated and not too heavy on the tongue.
Overall either the best port city beer I have tried or very near the top. Very good overall.
