Looks like dew, tastes like dew, sugary like dew...
This is my favorite brew of this line. Really great taste! The only thing that kills it is the high sugar content so you cannot have too many of them. Other than that, they killed this hard Mountain Dew product!

 

At first glance, it looks beautiful on the shelf. Tastes and feels like a hard version of Mountain Dew. Does feel a little flat but definitely still drinkable.

Definitely recommend to anyone who likes sweeter, lighter beers.

If you see it on the shelf, try it out as it is very enjoyable!

I actually love this drink. It has a pleasant lime smell and tastes like Mountain Dew! It doesn't have an after taste and really will quench a thirst. I'll buy it again, it's much better than Mike's. Mike's can be a bit bitter. A solid 5, as I found it very enjoyable.

 

 

12oz bottle poured into Duvel tulip. No discernable date, but 0118FL stamped on glass of neck. Grabbed it as part of a $10 six pack mixer from the grocery store.

Appearance - Possibly the most non-existent head of any beer I've ever seen in hundreds of beer reviews. Even a vigorous high pour only produces a thin-film white head that rapidly extinguishes in moments. Opaque lime green (light green-yellow) body. But it's a citrus brew and this is the most citrus looking beer I've ever seen. So here goes. 4

Smell - Gotta say it smells just like a well-limed light beer, just like someone squeezed a whole bunch of fresh lime juice into it, with maybe a hint of lemon to round it out. Somewhat soft and sweet and rounded. 4

Taste - Wow. Tastes like a lemon-limeade. Cane sugar sweetness. Tastes more like a soft drink than a beer, by miles. In fact, this could confuse people in a taste test with Mountain Dew. 4

Mouthfeel - Some effervescent carbonation. Smooth and mellow. A whole lot like a soft drink. Again, Mountain Dew.

Overall - Have you ever wanted to get drunk off Mountain Dew? Shouldn't be called "Not your father's..." but more like "Not your beer drinker's...", because this doesn't taste anything like a beer. This looks, smells, and tastes like Mountain Dew. 4

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Citrus berry - hint of lemon 3/17/2018

Ok, so I bought a single of this to compare with what I feel is a really good job that this company did with their Root Beer. I went into this assuming that this is their take on Mountain Dew. Pour looks just like Mountain Dew, with the little fizz as well. Smells like the aforementioned beverage. Taste is pretty spot on, with a slight alcohol/malty finish as it warms up.

So end of the day, if you like Mountain Dew, you will like this brew. By my rating I hope people understand that yes, I like Mountain Dew. I went back and read the fruit/vegetable beer style, and this beer does a fantastic job and recreating the beverage it is trying to mimic, albeit in an alcoholic form. So I guess either my palate is way off, or other people knocking this beer don't like Mountain Dew.

 

 

This offering pours a pale yellow-green color that looks similar to a popular soda. There is no head on pouring, but the carbonation is evident. The smell is more like an alka-seltzer mixed with the soda than something I'd like. The taste and the mouthfeel follow this line, and taste more like the cold medicine than an alcoholic beverage. I wouldn't plan on drinking these after mowing the lawn.

This looks, smells and tasted just like a hard version of some Soviet-era pop drink. It is actually pretty tasty and aromatic but, just like with every beer that comes our of Small Town, it is disgustingly sweet. Even Mountain Dew has a more balanced flavor profile, which says a lot.

 

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 8/15/2017. Pours hazy pale golden straw color with a small foamy white head that reduces to nothing pretty quickly. No lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, citrus zest, and white sugar. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of citrus fruit and sugary sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, citrus zest, and white sugar. Very mild citrus tartness and citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, citrus zest, and white sugar on the finish for a while. Nice robustness and balance of citrus fruit and sugary sweetness; with minimal cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, fairly slick/syrupy, and slightly acidic/sticky mouthfeel that is good. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a solid fruit beer. All around good robustness and balance of citrus fruit and sugary sweetness; very smooth and quite refreshing to drink. Tastes exactly like Mountain Dew, which was what I expected out of it. An enjoyable offering.

I'm ashamed to admit this is actually pretty tasty. Not quite a beer proper, but tolerable and tasty...somewhere between a Sierra Mist and a radler.

Closer to a soda than a beer, and that isn't a good thing. Alcohol is incredibly well hidden; you could hand this to anyone on the street in a soda cup and they wouldn't realize it had any alcohol at all.

Artificial lemon-lime runs rampant...this tastes like a discontinued Mountain Dew flavour of the month.

C- / BELOW AVERAGE

Not really sure what to do with a review here. It looks like Mountain Dew. Bright unnatural neon yellow. No head but some fizzy carbonation is seen initially. Smell has a strong artificial citrus aroma that is definitely sweet. I mean, its pretty similar to what you'd get from Mountain Dew ... sensing a theme here? Taste is sweet and frankly soda like. If I didn't know better, I'd think this was a soda that after drinking it for a bit I'd suddenly realize had alcohol in it. Taste is Mountain Dew like - artificial sweet citrus. Maybe a hint of alcohol burn on the back end, but its not strong. Feel is fizzy - carbonation is soda like.

Look, this beer does exactly what it sets out to do - be an alcoholic Mountain Dew clone. So if you like Mountain Dew and the idea of alcoholic Mountain Dew intrigues you, then you'll like this. If you don't, then or it doesn't, then you'll hate this. That being said, you'd never ever guess this is a beer blind.

 

 

 

 

 

Poured from a 24 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is identical to Mountain Dew. The aroma and taste is also a dead ringer for the Dew. It is really good for what it is supposed to be.

Hazy Ecto Cooler-like lime color. No head. None. Not even to begin with.

Smells like Mountain Dew or Mellow Yellow. Citric acid. Slight alcohol twinge.

Tastes uncanny to a Mountain Dew. But even more sugary. It's like Jolt. Or something similar. ;123 sorry my foot twitched, sugar rush.

Feel is carbonated and sweet, a citric acidic finish.

Overall, I like this better than Mountain Dew. It's not a beer, but if I feel like buying Mountain Dew, I'll just buy this instead.
