Served in a flared pokal at Bliss.

According to the literature available to me, the recipe for this brew, like that of the Winter Spiced Ale, traces its lineage to seventeenth-century Europe. Right on. It pours a soupy sienna topped by a half-finger of sandstone micro-foam. The nose comprises light roasted malts, pretzel, cocoa, and some buttery biscuits in the background. The taste holds notes of roasted malts, light coffee, very light smoke, and some dark chocolate. The roasted malts are nicely showcased as the star of the show. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a very nice porter from this new local brewer. Hopefully, it represents signs of tastiness to come.
