Served in a shaker pint glass at Lakeside Inn.

Nothing like kicking back with a local brew whist watching the Bulls work their way through the playoffs. The former pours a hazy sunset russet-amber topped by a bit more than a finger of cream foam. The nose comprises toffee, dark orange, black pepper, ruby red grapefruit, and a light bit of what seems like roasted malts. The taste holds notes of ruby red grapefruit, toasted barley, toffee, mandarin orange (in heavy syrup), nutmeg, and clove. Something seems amiss here: The malts come off as a bit harsh, while clashing slightly with the fruity notes. It just doesn't come together all the way well on the tongue for me. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a dry-ish finish. Overall, an okay amber, but the flavor combination just didn't quite do it for me.
