Undated 12oz twisty purchased for a buck at Merchant's in Dearborn and poured into a pilsener.

Clear straw with a finger of white that shows good retention. Light webs of lace as it goes down.

Boiled corn and grains upfront. I can smell a trace of grassy hops. Rather one dimensional, but at least it isn't skunked.

Tastes exactly as it smells but with a weird and unwelcomed metallic twinge. Grainy aftertaste. It has a weak mouth and nothing that would bring me back for more.

served in a pub glass.
Pours a pale straw yellow color with small foamy white head with large amounts of tight carbonation.

Smells of boiled sweet corn with a vague floral smell and some light earthy hops.

Taste mainly of karo corn syrup and a slight banana after taste. Not very flavorful compared to other Pils that I have had and I have had a lot of them lately. Very light citrus hop finish on the beer.

It is entirely to syrupy up front for the mouthfeel. It does finish drier than it starts, but it's not enough. I'm not sure how this beer is syrupy yet watery all at the same time. You could probably drink this as a chugging beer if you didn't care about any complexity in the taste or style. I'd rather have my diet coke if I was that thirsty.

I don't admit this often...Hubby was right.

This beer was served in a pub glass.

Appearance: The beer is fizzy yellow in coloration. The beer has a thin white head. The beer has ok head retention.

Smell: The beer smells of sweet corn and cooked veggies. The beer has a brief grassy smell.

Taste: The beer has a sweet corn flavor. The hops are grassy and compete with sulphur skunkyness to break up the sweetness.

Mouthfeel/ Drinkability: The beer is watery thin. The beer has stinging carbonation. Frankly this is the sort of beer I wish wasnt imported.

Pours with a very small head comprised mostly of a thin level very small bubbles which is pretty unusual. The aroma is mediocre and has a slight bit of that subway beer smell. Taste is not overpowering, in fact the taste is almost non-existant. It is not as thin a beer as you would expect for one that has such little taste, it is of average or slightly above average thickness for a lager.

I only had one of these and would like to have a few more but would never consider putting in on my rotation of regular favorites! If you go to Brazil or a bar that is full of light beers it is definitely worth getting!

Very pale and clear yellow with a a thin but not completely-absent head.

Aroma: Luden's honey cough drops, candy corn, cabbage.

Taste: Exceedingly watery. Beyond that, it's not quite as bad as say, corona -- there is a pencil-thin malty backbone and a very faint hint of honey. No major adjunct flavors shine through, but then this is simply too weak to tell. A hop cone might have been dipped into the Amazon upstream of the brewery, but I can't confirm this suspicion.

Good as a thirst quencher, not so much as a serious beer.

Pours out to a clear golden, forming a rocky white head with average retention and no lacing. Carbonation is moderate. The aroma smells like sugar, grass, hay, and butterscotch. The taste is of adjuncts like corn and sugar. There is an odd underlying chemical sweetness with a peculiar metallic taste late in the aftertaste. Chemical bitterness with the taste of pennies. The finish is lightly dry and grassy. Bitterness is mild to moderate, and again, very odd. Drinkability is poor. I'm hard pressed to finish this bottle.

I agree with Jason. This is a beer that has no reason to be exported here. We already have it and it's called "Olde-English 800". Yuck.

The beer pours a pale yellow color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a light pale malt scent with a dry and slightly musty lager yeast aroma. The taste is decent as well. It has a smooth pale malt flavor that goes down easy and finishes dry and bitter slightly musty lager yeast taste. The mouthfeel is average. It is a low bodied beer with adequate/good carbonation. This is a pretty damn good lager. It's light and refreshing with a solid flavor. As far as lagers go, this is a good one.

Bottle obtained in trade, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a one-fingered nearly white head of large bubbles over a clear dull golden liquid that has oodles of tiny little particles. Oops, I guess there must have been sediment that I didn't notice while pouring. The head settles quickly to a sticky layer that persists quite a while. Smells sweet and has a fruity smell that I can't quite place. Boy, there's not much here otherwise. Maybe a hint of cinnamon with searching. Tastes sweet to start, then in comes a fruity and honey flavored sweetness that persists into the aftertaste. Also some corn syrup here. I wish I could nail that fruity flavor. It's not likely a fruit I've ever had before. Okay, not much else I can pick out here. Pretty simple flavor profile, but not a simple as the aroma profile. Light bodied and carbonated appropriate to style. Did they use any hops in here?

I'd never had a Brazilian beer prior to this... and after this one, I'm not sure I want another. Pours an unappetizing yellow, no head. Metallic taste with a weird, watery after taste. Maybe this beer was damaged in the shipping process, but this was one of the worst beers I'd had in a while. I'd rather drink a PBR.

Macro, macro, macro.

Looks cheap and mass produced like dehydrated urine, although the bottle label was quite nice looking.

Smells like dry dusty residue at the bottom of an old bag of moth infested popcorn.

Tastes like a cheap and mass produced pilsner. There is some sort of spice to it that I can’t quite place my finger on. It’s refreshing and ads something to the taste. It’s like ginger but not quite.

The mouth feel is poor. My cheeks feel saturated and wrinkled like fingers after a long bath.

At first it seems as drinkable as any cheap pilsner but my stomach began telling me not to try a second about 9 ounces into my first bottle.

Pours and looks like most pilseners do, golden yellow in color with an airy bright-white head. This one smells a little different. No skunky scent whatsoever, nothing bitter either. Instead it smells very sweet and a little malty, very contrary to my past experiences. The taste is subdued. Its a little sweet up front and finishes dry, not really a whole lot to it. It doesnt taste bad, but it sure doesnt taste anything like a german pilsener. Maybe reminds me of what a miller lite would taste like with sugar added to it. The mouthfeel is average, as is the drinkability. I would have liked to find a little more in this one.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A-This beer pours a crystal clear pale yellow body with high carbonation and a thin film of white soapy foam.

S- sweet honey aroma with a hint of malt. Pretty clean aroma.

T- Very sweet maltyness with honey malt dominating. A faint hint of hop aroma but no bitterness or hop flavor. A bit of seltzer water and honey comb taste at the finish. As it warms more of the corn taste come through the honey malt flavor.

M- Light mouthfeel even though there was strong carbonation. No astringency or alcohol warmth.

D-I'm a bit of a sweet tooth so I kind of enjoyed this beer especially when it was ice cold. It reminds me of sitting in the tropics on the beach reaching for a thirst quenching beer. I could drink this over any adjunct-laden macro. It’s to sweet for a session beer but nice as a thirst quencher.

The color is a tad pale for a pilsener, not golden enough. The head starts off with a pretty good size, but doesn't stick around very long. Carbonation is low for the style. The aroma is light in strength with just a mild sweet graininess noted. The taste is better than appearance and aroma indicate. A nice delicate sweetness is joined by a light touch of grain. Smooth with no off-tastes. Required crispness is there, but isn't quite enough for the style. Drinkability is very good, but for a few bucks cheaper you can buy better.

Light bodied, pale gold color with very little head.

Aroma is very mild and somewhat grassy.

Taste is mildly sweet grain up front, corn flakes? Then goes dry with just a touch of herbal hops.

Another passable thirst quencher for hot weather, but not really worth the freight from brazil.

12oz. bottle: This seemed like a good beer to have since I was in a Brazillian eatery. Some of my acquantances thought that it was good, I would only give it an OK. There was a fairly non-existent aroma. No offensive, just not there. The beer was clear golden, about the same hue of adjacent Miller Lite. The taste was at least a hair better. There was a hint of sweetness to it. No bitterness at all. I’d stay away from another.

I believe this is the first beer I've ever had from Brazil.

Appearance: Very light, golden straw color. Almost no head to speak of, even after a vigorous pour.

Smell: Somewhat fruity aroma. Grassy/grainy overall smell.

Taste: Tastes like a cheap American macro. Kinda reminds me of Leine's Original as far as quality and taste goes.

Mouthfeel: Fairly dry mouthfeel. Crisp & refreshing nonetheless. Definitely a summer beer.

Drinkability: I'm all for light, refreshing beers..but this one didn't do much for me. Drinkability is decent because it can easily be consumed in vast quantities and is relatively smooth. But there are simply too many similar Pilsner's that I find much more enjoyable than this one.

A very light brew in every aspect, and moderatly enjoyable.
The brew on arrival was a thin pale yellow with a crown of a single finger which quickly disapated to a very light and minor island lace.
Carbonation initially was lively but it to disappeared quickly.
The body is weak, typical of a light brew.
Aroma is mildly of stale cardboard.
A well balanced brew with no clear winner....however a lingering sence of ginger is a pleasant surprize.

Pours with a white head that fades slowly, leaving a good lace. Light carbonation. Clear yellow color. Molasses nose, starts sweet with molasses in background but not syrupy - very light bodied. Clean light finish. $1.49 for a 12 oz bottle from Liquor Barn Lexington, KY.

out the bottle into the glass with a quick splash of white head that leaves only a touch of lace on top of a yellow gold colored brew with what appears to be (in this glass) 5 lines of carbonation (in otherwords, average), my nose must be decieving me because this comes across as very very weak, let it sit for a minute or two and the smell got a touch stronger, just enough to get a hint of fruity, but, honestly smells like a beer from 10 ft. and tastes the same, very mellow (almost flat) lager taste, missing the crisp edge or aftertaste, makes its way across the mouth but doesnt stay long, aftertaste is simply that..

Never expect too much out of the Brazilian beers, but still I was willing to give it a chance. It poured clear, light and golden with high carbonation visible. The head was smallish, maybe 1/4". There was a nice hop bouquet in the nose, floral and malty. The taste was smooth, light, and well balanced. Certainly no standout characteristic and doesn't distinguish itself from any other pilsner. The finish is sweetly floral with just enough bittering kick to temper. Eh, not really worth seeking out.

Pours a clear yellow brew.

Smell is sweet and fruity with a distinct corn scent, and a bit of toasted grain in the background.

Taste is light and a bit sweet, has a wheat husk flavor to it. Very light hops, must be the Brazilian Budweiser equivalent.

Mouthfeel is very light.

Drinkable and thirst quenching, but not anything worth seeking out.

Through the importers of Xingu black beer comes another interesting looking beer from Brazil. Its attractive retro label bears a freshness code if you look closely at its center. The "wild palm" pours a crystal clear golden body beneath a short head of creamy bright white foam that drops shortly but leaves some nice lacing about the glass. Sweetish malt combines with some floral notes in the nose; and its light-medium body and delicate carbonation lend a soft caress to the tongue. The flavor is sweet and not particularly grainy, yet its not candyish and it still manages to finish fairly drying as the sweetness fades rather quickly. Overall, the bottle looks better than the beer inside tastes.

A world beer offering that is iffy...

Poured a clear fizzy pale straw color. No lace. Aromas are grassy and corny. Flavor is very dry. Snappy finish. Not much to note in the flavor, save for a muted hop bitterness. Low body and thin. Poor Brazilans...can we send some Budwesier to them?

Palma Louca was a light gold color. The white head was very modest and ephemeral. The aroma was a little grainy with a faint hint of citrus. The taste was a bit grainy with slight sweetness and some hop bite. The finish was slightly dry and uneventful. Another hot weather thirst quenching beer from a hot country.

This boring Pilsner from Queimados, Brazil leaves little to be discussed. It pours a pale gold color with a fast fading fizzy white head. The aroma is mostly a new mowed lawn with a bit of husk smell.
The light malt body is fairly sweet and lightly herbal. The light/medium hops have a bit of that metallic and slightly sulfuric taste. It's wet, weak and bland, but it is basically an inoffensive brew.
