In a tulip the beer was a golden color with a large white head. There was scant lacing.

Sweet fruity aroma, as well as peppery spice. Nice, but a little laid back.

Bananas, pears, peaches in the taste. Peppery. Sweet malt background. Taste also a bit timid.

This beer was sweet, probably too sweet for me.

Somewhat above average.

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, hazy, orange-gold in color, high carbonation

Smell: funk, apricot, and Belgian spices

Taste: big banana with sweet peach, coriander, clove, cinnamon, and funk

Mouthfeel: sweet and funky with a bitter spike in the middle, light bodied with high and prickly carbonation

Overall: The best beer I have had from the brewery and a really banana forward tripel. I was pleasantly surprised with how good this was. Light and complex, a great local option for a tripel.

Not a bad beer but it tastes like a very basic belgian abby, good mouth feel and taste but leaves me wanting more

750 ml. corked and caged bottle poured into a globe glass. The Triplication pours a hazed golden orange after a bit of struggle to remove the cork. Pops with good carbonation nonetheless and shows a steady cap of white foam. Maintains good lace throughout.

Nose is slightly sweet and mildly estery. Hint of lemony hops and a peppery yeast presence dominate. Spicy and phenolic, intriguing yet a bit atypical for the style on the surface. Warming brings forward some nice complexities however and nudges things up a bit.

Taste again offers a peppery spice and a decent body, along with a lingering finish with a bit of texture. This tripel lacks the fruity and clean notes common to the style yet offers a hoppier experience and a solid yeast presentation.

Overall a pretty solid expeience. Great Belgian yeast character.

This one was shared at a tasting while hanging out with Mississipping! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller taster flute. Poured a hazy golden yellow-orange with a one and a half finger white head that subsided to a half finger slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, fruit, wood, subtle vanilla, and banana. The flavor was of sweet malt, fruit, wood, vanilla, and banana. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. All of the aspects going on in this one were really spot-on for the style, but the barrel seemed to add another depth of complexity to it that you would not have expected. The barrel while being there wasn’t overly aggressive but seemed to mix quite well with the fruit profile taking place. This made it quite enjoyable and probably one of the bigger surprises of the evening during this tasting. A definite must try if you get the opportunity.

Bottled on 5/4/14

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a decent sized white head, fades very quickly and leaves no lacing, very thin layer of bubbles remain settled on top though.

Smell has a strong bubblegum aroma, little bit of hay and spice and yeast, it actually smells rather "fresh", could be the nice day I'm drinking it on.

Taste is heavy on the bubblegum and banana flavors right off the bat, Belgian candied sugar is present but not heavily so, carbonation is high but appropriate, the bubbles pop quite quickly and are sharp like a cola, finishes semi-sticky, strength is well-hidden but a year of age might have helped with that.

Surprisingly solid Tripel, wouldn't mind getting this again for the cellar.

A - Looks very good, light gold with a solid finger of white head. Head is comprised of very small bubbles.

S - Nice Belgian yeast scents. There is a hint of booze in the nose that isn't entirely appealing. Overall a good smell, though.

T - The taste starts out good -- nice full flavor up front. However, by the finish it gets a little watery. Just missing a final push that would make the flavor great.

M - The carbonation -- which is one of the most important parts of a tripel in my opinion -- is spot on. Great mouthfeel.

Overall, this is a good beer with a couple things lacking from it. Other than in the smell, the 9% ABV is hidden quite well, but this beer is lacking a bit to make it a great beer.
