Pours w/ an amber color. Light feathery head that doesn't stick around long.

Nose gives you a bit malt, but the hops cuts through it. Smells cascade-ish rather than Tettnanger. A bit strange there.

Taste is more of the same. Seems to lack that malty slightly sweet character that you are used to in an Oktoberfest. Doesn't really ring true to the style, although the boundaries for this style get bigger every year it seems.

Not your traditional Oktoberfest, but not horrible beer. Solid by the Wooden Shoe's standards...

I would tell you to get a growler, but for some crazy reason they charge $12.00 to fill a 64 oz growler and $8-9.00 to buy the 72oz 6 pack... What? Why fill a growler for more than a 6 er? No packaging ect...? Who knows, but you're stuck w / 6 of these if you want it. Ugh.

The color is a pale orange with almost no head. Aroma of sweet malt and grass. Light and crisp in the mouth, the flavors aren't particularly pronounced. Grassy hops, lightly toasted malt, some hints of brown sugar and bread, too.

I wouldn't call this a world-class version of the style, but it's solid. And considering the brewery, I think it's well done

12 oz bottle, 5.2% abv. Hazy light copper color. Some orange hues. White head disappears pretty quickly. Not much lace left on the glass.

Nice malt character in the nose. Slightly toasty, with some baked bread. A bit of caramel comes through as well. Earthy hop finish.

Again, similar to the nose this has a gread bready quality in the beginning. Slightly toasty flavor, with a flash of caramel. Earthy finish balances things well.

Lighter body, but seems good. Carbonation is good. A nice beer.

Deep cloudy, orange juice looking oktoberfest.Opaque but with light carbonation. I'd say this one is unfiltered.

One of the better aromas from an O-fest and honestly a lager i've ran into. Thick, sweet, fresh baked breads. Layers of toffee and caramel, hints of date. Just amazing malt quality.

I've always loved Oktoberfests and this is probalby my 10th one this year. A few years ago I had a huge o-fest party and traded for multiple o-fests and pumpkins and had 37 different o-fests than. This ranks up there with the best of them.

Being the Wooden Shoe was originally a lager house I anticipated this to be good, but considering some of their other "ales" they've released recently I didn't know what to expect.

This is delcious. This juicy caramel, toffee, fresh baked bread, doughy on the finish. A hint of sweetness dries out with an herbal hop on the finish and ends clean and smoothly. Mouth is big and creamy. Viscous and wonderful. Great job by the guys in Minster. Now a reason to go to the o-fest in Minster. Hopefully it won't just be bud light in the future.
